TAMPA BAY, August 31, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Ten year-old Joshua Heldreth, the eldest of eight children, was arrested on Good Friday of this year for trespassing while attempting to bring a drink of water to Miss Terri Schaivo. Days later Schiavo died of intentional dehydration. In court Joshua pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 25 hours of community service and ordered to write an apology for his actions.
The boy whose arrest photo was splashed on front pages of newspapers across the nation wrote in his apology letter, "I was arrested on Good Friday for trespassing on the hospice center's property . . . Not giving Mrs. Shiavo (sic) food or water was wrong. The reason I had to go on your property was because Jesus would do the same thing. It made me sad that she was so thirsty and it made Jesus sad too. I knew she would die without water and I am called by Jesus to be a defender of the defenceless. So I had to go on your property to try to bring her a drink."
Joshua added, "I am sorry that you didn't like that and wouldn't allow me to help save her life and one day you will have to tell God why. I won't be able to help you then like I tried to help her. I will pray for you every day . . ."
LifeSiteNews.com caught up with Joshua's father Scott Heldreth today. Scott told LifeSiteNews.com he is very proud of his son. "My son has amazed me through this whole thing," said Heldreth. The proud father said it was his son's own initiative to attempt to give the starving woman a glass of water, and despite the warning of his parents that he'd be arrested, the boy insisted. "He was the one who begged us to go down, because he wanted to give her a glass of water . . . We explained that police will never let you help . . . you'll be arrested, but he went anyways."
Pro-life leader Rev. Flip Benham of Operation Save America told LifeSiteNews.com that the whole pro-life movement shares Heldreth's pride in his son. Benham recalls the reaction of Heldreth on Good Friday as he watched his son being arrested: "When that all took place Scott was weeping, this father was weeping tears of joy seeing his son not only talk the Christian talk but walk the walk."
While the apology letter has been submitted, Heldreth told LifeSiteNews.com he's not completely sure it will be accepted.

He could try that. And we can shoot it full of holes.
We already know the arguments he'd have to use. The trolls used them here. It's a weak case -- a bunch of lawyer stuff that doesn't speak to the heart. Medically, they cannot explain Terri's collapse at all. The autopsy report took away Michael's shabby little alibi. (Dear Mr. Hirsh: The #l cause of injury and death in young women is domestic violence. According to Occam's Razor, that's the only place you need to look.)
The book could take a different direction. Hirsh evidently has been interviewing Michael. Maybe he'll see that the stories don't add up. Maybe he'll figure out that he's being lied to. Maybe he'll finally grasp that he himself is being betrayed and used to whitewash a horrendous crime.
An author puts his own reputation on the line. If Hirsh hops in bed with a slime like Michael Schiavo, he can expect to spend his retirement trying to wipe off the slime.
I don't suppose the correct spelling matters very much. If I were writing a book in praise of Michael Schiavo, I'd use a pen name and make sure nobody could find out who I was.
I would use disappearing ink and change my fingerprints as well.
It still amazes me that yesterday when I checked stories that might be about Terri, I found the first 82 news articles were about Michael's book. One or two would be normal, but 82? They are so desperate to rally to his side.
Well perhaps evil people do not see the evil they do and we will find a True Confessions, which in prideful blindness is not even recognized by the author/subject.

I have link to the news story but it is very graphic. This is the petitioning of the govt in Georgia to throw this guy away for a long time. "cooked a dog to death in a regular oven".
Is it St. Francis who blesses the animals?

This petition site looks like they are liberals so I only endorse the petition regarding the poor dog.
Suffice it to say that these opinion writers forget one thing. TERRI HAD NO FIRST RESPONDERS and she is NO LONGER WITH US. Do morons who despise the president think that Terri is alive????

In the inverted religion of Liberalism, God is the enemy. "Christians" and "right-wingers" are reviled daily, even as Big Brother manufactured daily hatred of Emmanuel Goldstein in 1984. These reporters think they are doing good, smiting the infidels.
They probably came from "progressive" upbringings and never went to church or bible school, or were even taught right and wrong. Deep down, they don't even believe in right and wrong. They do not grasp the irony that inability to tell right from wrong is the legal definition of criminal insanity.

Weapon of Mrs Destruction.
Catherine the Gargoyle Crier. How did she make her face look all demonic and stuff when she was booing Terri's right to live?
The RINOS want to be cleared of wrongdoing too, like Judge George Greer and the other republican judges who voted to kill Terri without reviewing the case file. They kept looking at Greer's snowjob and affirming that.
And Judge Whittemore NOT HOLDING A "de novo" hearing. He was responsible for Terri's death - the tube never went back in, no water was ever on the way. NO ICE CHIP, NO NOTHING. While Whittemore held Terri's real family hostage, she continued to be tortured to death.
Judge Whittemore received praise as did Judge Greer from AG CHARLIE CRIST who called Whittemore a "hero" for defending the judiciary. Was that really Whittemore's job? I thoughtjudges were to be FAIR JURISTS, not serving to defend each other!!!!!
HELLO, WHERE IS THE INVESTIGATION? Where is the brave republican who will get my vote if he or she stands up to the renegades in the party?
I almost can. Name writers get the big bucks up front and Hirsh definitely is not a name. Furthermore, they didn't solicit the book. He approached them, sounding like a True Believer, which means he's fish bait to a publisher. He probably signed for a pittance in advance and a promise of generous royalties when the book sells. Which it probably won't.
The publisher has practically no risk with this kind of deal. They could sign up a dozen Hirshs for pennies and hope that a catchy title would sell a few books.
Yes, and he did it all with a smirk on his face.
Pray for him. Who needs it more?
They drowned/euthanized a bunch of folks in that nursing home in New Orleans and it was a crime but what happened to Terri was worse!!!
What happened to Terri was done by the government not by mother nature.
Is it acceptable to pray for atheists??? like the tampa middle district atheist, his honor.
Pro-death advocates use this term to dehumanize those who cannot protect themselves. When talking of a person in a coma we are not talking about a vegetable, but a person. Like the word fetus for the unborn child, the word vegetable is used to devalue the comatose person in public thought. A comatose person is a human being, not a vegetable. The correct term is simply person in a coma.

Yeah, shucks, we gotta pray for their souls. Who knows, maybe they will turn into something better. God only knows.
Acceptable? It is commanded.
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you -- Matthew 5:44 KJV.
It's for ourselves too, for we are all sinners.
That's your last sermonette from me for the next two weeks :-)
