Ten Year Old Arrested for Giving Food to Terri Schiavo Apologizes

TAMPA BAY, August 31, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Ten year-old Joshua Heldreth, the eldest of eight children, was arrested on Good Friday of this year for trespassing while attempting to bring a drink of water to Miss Terri Schaivo.  Days later Schiavo died of intentional dehydration.  In court Joshua pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 25 hours of community service and ordered to write an apology for his actions.

The boy whose arrest photo was splashed on front pages of newspapers across the nation wrote in his apology letter, "I was arrested on Good Friday for trespassing on the hospice center's property . . . Not giving Mrs. Shiavo (sic) food or water was wrong.  The reason I had to go on your property was because Jesus would do the same thing.  It made me sad that she was so thirsty and it made Jesus sad too.  I knew she would die without water and I am called by Jesus to be a defender of the defenceless.  So I had to go on your property to try to bring her a drink."

Joshua added, "I am sorry that you didn't like that and wouldn't allow me to help save her life and one day you will have to tell God why.  I won't be able to help you then like I tried to help her. I will pray for you every day . . ."

LifeSiteNews.com caught up with Joshua's father Scott Heldreth today.  Scott told LifeSiteNews.com he is very proud of his son.  "My son has amazed me through this whole thing," said Heldreth.  The proud father said it was his son's own initiative to attempt to give the starving woman a glass of water, and despite the warning of his parents that he'd be arrested, the boy insisted.  "He was the one who begged us to go down, because he wanted to give her a glass of water . . . We explained that police will never let you help . . . you'll be arrested, but he went anyways."

Pro-life leader Rev. Flip Benham of Operation Save America told LifeSiteNews.com that the whole pro-life movement shares Heldreth's pride in his son.  Benham recalls the reaction of Heldreth on Good Friday as he watched his son being arrested: "When that all took place Scott was weeping, this father was weeping tears of joy seeing his son not only talk the Christian talk but walk the walk."

While the apology letter has been submitted, Heldreth told LifeSiteNews.com he's not completely sure it will be accepted.

So you believe the ME? The ME said that Terri's cause of death was dehydration. He also stated that left a door open for further analysis. An ME looks at necrotic tissue. He didn't see Terri when she was alive. Terri was alert and aware.

There is a girl with half a brain who graduated from high school with honors and is going to college on a schoarship.

Judge Greer DENIED any and all swallowing tests or cognitive fundtional tests for Terri. He said flat out "no" because he was bound and determined to carry out the hit on the third try. She couldn't even get a divorce! No, no, no. Terri swallowed her own saliva - specialists can strengthen that reflex.

Sometimes nursing homes put patients on feeding tubes for convenience's sake.

Judge Greer exterminated her because he was "bored" with her case (and the kickbacks likely had slowed down to a crawl since 2000).

Bishop Lynch refused to pray the rosary for Terri. "I don't do that sort of thing". He is an abomination for betraying his faith and an innocent woman.

If one read that statement not knowing about this case, one would think 'this girl' was on death row convicted by her peers. Yet, all she was .... was disabled and not convicted of any crime and never given 'her' day in court.

'going to die'.... yet, according to MS and her marker, Terri died on the date that she would pretend to be asleep when MS came home to avoid any argument.

Greer, et al, are all guilty of pre-meditated murder!

All these faux ME's have shown up to say that Terri was brain dead. Guess they met her in person, heard her laugh, saw her respond to certain people, heard her try to communicate.

Terri's brain was not full of water. Note that every time there's a question about her alertness and awareness, the condition of her brain is changed so they can keep restating that she wasn't there. Now it's not full of water but she couldn't swallow. They are on thin ice as usual. They are playing the circle game.

People over complicated this case from the beginning. Billions of words of debate were exchanged before the killing and are still being exchanges after.

Liberals spend hours upon hours attempting to justify the killing, especially to themselves, so that they never have to feel any guilt, and conservatives spend infinite amounts of wasted time trying to prove to liberals that it was wrong to murder Terri.

All this wasted time and verbal exchange, when it was really a no brainer all along.....

Its wrong to kill the helpless!

Its wrong to intentionally starve a person to death!

Its wrong to destroy a human life simply because it doesn't meet our definition of what is required for happy suburban living!

Its wrong to kill a human being out of arrogance because we may have decided that "WE" wouldn't want to live that way!

Its wrong to kill your wife so that you can marry another woman!

Its wrong for a legally blind judge to impose a death sentence on a disabled person based on video evidence that he could never have possibly seen!(gives new meaning to the phrase "justice is blind")

Its wrong for a lawyer who has an agenda to gain profit from a person's death to be involved in court proceedings to bring about that person's death!

See how simple this all really was? it was all just a matter of right and wrong, black and white, and people just blew it all out of proportion.

Poor Terri... If we could have just kept it simple she would still be alive, but she got dragged into the bottomless gray area that clouds the liberal mind.

Gray Area = Anarchy, chaos, moral vacuum, soaring crime, soaring sexually transmitted disease rates, rising violence,....oh yes...and lets not forget the murder of the disabled.

Let's all keep an ear peeled for the stories of rape and murder that will be coming from the survivors on Katrina. All of that human brutality will be afine example of what happens in the gray area when black and white no longer applies.

Benedictus XVI is Our Pope, I am Catholic, traditional, and was there to witness the abomination of Bp. Lynch abandoning his charge.

We were there to support Terri and to pray the Rosary in spite of Bp.

FV by her presence there, even not a Catholic, showed more Catholic values and charity than the many defenders of Bp. who stood down for Terri and were hugely conspicuous by their absence.
