You can look at hurricane climatology at the following link and see that September and October are the peak months for hurricanes in the Atlantic basin:

I'm actually worried about soon-to-be TD 15 right behind it. It's coming into the Atlantic too low for my taste.
Many hurricanes that have hit the east coast have arrived in the month of October, you are correct the cold front will push them to the east, however these cold fronts also accelerate the storms to the north, many times into New England.
stop the madness...
What he's doing is telling the looters to have at it.
Sod off tropics, we've had our share this year.
Thank you, my FRiend!!!!!!
I know, I know, I know....................
I will rely on those more knowlegeable about that type of thing.........I am a total novice when it comes to what much of this means when these things are so far out.
TD# 14 is no threat. However, invest 92L continues to get its act together... I fear it might become a threat in the coming days. It's still way out there, but it's quite far south... and will be coming into the Islands in the coming days.

Again, that is irrelevant to my point. July and August are the peak months for tropical storms hitting the United States. Do you not get it?
Just damn.
If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
When, pray tell, was the last time a tropical storm hit New England in October?
I know...as if we have nothing to do but watch the weather.
Just damn.
If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
Hopefully Cuba...
One of the 14 deadliest hurricanes occurred in New England in 1938. The town I live in lost approx 40 people. Islands are gone that existed pre-hurricane.

May it hold that track and stay out at sea.
