That is not the people I meant and that is what I am afraid of.

You are quite right. Those that cannot help themselve need help in spite of those who will not help. But I'd sure like to see bad things happen to those trying to take advantage of the situation in order to loot, burn, kill and/or rape.

What is he/she(which Clintoon?) going to do?

IMHO this is a good move by President Bush. Enlisting Bubba not only will bring in dollars, but will possibly stifle some of the criticism he would make of Bush's performance. I just hope he doesn't add Jimmuh peanut to the mix!!!

Paradox was responding to something I said. I did NOT say a thing about God's revenge. I made one comment about trying to hear God's voice in all this and it's been like the parlor game whispering rumors. I have never believed that God visits his revenge on people in this matter. Sometimes, it just isn't worth freeping at all.

I apologize for putting words in your mouth (fingers). Perhaps I jumped the gun because I have read others say basically what I insinuated that you had said (Gods revenge). I still disagree about finding a message in the storm, but I shouldn't have made it look like you said what you didn't. Again, I apologize for that.

Yes, being a freeper can be a hard thing...

Also all of the emergency responders (police, fire fighters, hospital workers, ambulance personnel including medi-flight operators and more) and a lot of service workers, who were keeping some of the hotels open--and offering hospitality sometimes free to people who had nowhere to go. (Many tourists were stranded, because the city shut down the buses, and the cabbies had bailed.) Students, too, were left without a way out because most universities have little or no parking, so they didn't have cars--and were too young to rent them.

Some of these posts are making me physically ill. I can only hope that the apparent lack of empathy for these souls is merely a knee-jerk reaction that some folks must take to protect themselves from the emotional toll of all of this. Once I allow myself to take it all in, I can't eat or sleep. To all of these people I say: put your mother's or grandmother's face on these bodies and see what you think.

Tell us, what "international relief efforts" or any other kind of "effort" is Bill Clinton being PUT IN CHARGE OF? You imply that Clinton will have control of something that matters in the immediate or longterm outcome of this crisis. Nope. He is a fundraiser. So is George HW Bush. Tell the truth.

"The buses are only for the Superdome crowd, not for the other people in the city. So what are the rest of the people to do?"

Well, isn't it obvious? They should shoot down the helicopters that are trying to rescue them.

Authorities said looting was becoming a problem at a number of stores and casinos along the Mississippi Gulf Coast Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005 in Biloxi, Miss. These individuals were photographed exiting a closed store along the beachfront carrying bags of merchandise.

Well, for one thing, he's been promoting ditching New Orleans instead of rebuilding. For the good people who just want to go home, that's salt in the wounds.

EITHER TAKE YOUR BUS TO NO OR GO HOME CINDY!

I fear that the American people will be unmoved towards the suffering of thousands because of the actions of these looters.

These images are hard to eradicate from the human mind.

Everyone should remember that for every looter out there, a little girl not more than 10 years old needs water, and a baby needs formula. The United States has given generously to those in foreign lands who are suffering.

Please do not let your hearts grow cold towards fellow Americans.

Not now.

They cannot shoot the looters because these are people in shock, desperate. They would not know who they were shooting.

Just think a minute please. If they go in shooting at people there will be a total panic and all victims would feel as if they were under attack. They would then turn against those trying to help and we would have riots, mobs and all else.

We cannot afford to just do what makes US feel good. Let the authorities handle this with care, thought, and consideration that these people have been through hell, lost all they had in the world and have no communication that people are coming to help.

sorry the news report didn't actually report the exact command and control structure of the relief effort that BJ Clinton was to help lead.

The busses are only for the Superdome crowd, not for the other people in the city. So what are the rest of the people to do? And what about the people who have already left NO. Where are they to go or stay? no one can afford to live in a hotel for very long, especially if their job was lost with the storm.

A caller to Laura Ingraham's show this am had a good idea -- to use the closed army bases for longer term care for those displaced.

-----What are you doing besides deriding people who have been devastated because they're not doing it like you would?

Thanks for saying this! Give everything you can to a reputable charity that has experience with disaster relief. If Freepers are "Pro Life," let's shut up and prove it.
