And I think the MSM is noting the
"slow response" of FEMA, compared with the quick response last year.

And last year there was quick response to the hurricanes by FEMA.

IMHO, neither FEMA, the Gov or LA, the Mayor of NO, and any number of other folks had any plan for a "worst case scenario" in NO, even though the possibility has been discussed for decades.

I'm beginning to think that President Bush should declare a state of insurrection to exist in the region and bring in the regular army on this and totally federalize the effort. FEMA can only do so much with the clueless, corrupt political apparatchik that has existed for decades in Lousiana and NO. Let Nagin and Blanco go crying to the press in the wake of such a decision: it's apparently all they are good for.

It is a slow response. People are dying. Now there are fires in a housing project. Hope nobody's inside. I'm just an American with a tv but as an American, I'm asking everybody in charge of this operation to STEP ON IT. Thank you, FV
