I just paid $4.09 per gallon to fill up with regular. An hour ago the same station was at $3.09. I have verification from WSB Radio 750 Atlanta that local stations are charging from $4 to $6 per gallon, while Atlanta motorists are queued up for blocks to get some. Rumors are that the gas supply in Atlanta will run out before the weekend.
It's not gouging if people are buying it. That's just the market price. "Gouging" is when it is priced so high that people can't purchase it.
That and we are not only armed, but actually know how to use said weapons.
Plus, we know who the trouble-makers are and who does not belong where.
A key advantage of going to school 1-12 with the same people -- and your mama knowing their mama.
My husband is filling up at Costco in Kennesaw, which is still unbelievably at $2.57, but he says the lines are incredible.
"A key advantage of going to school 1-12 with the same people -- and your mama knowing their mama."
Absolutely. I grew up in one small town and moved to an even smaller town and have close ties in both. I count on my neighbors and they count on me.
Having ridden mass transit with folks who have mental problems, have wet themselves and like to inflict themselves on non-interested women, I think your idea displays more than a little unfamiliarity with what mass transit is actually like.
Here in Lawrenceburg Kentucky Kroger is out of gas...and the other stations are selling regular @ $3.19
Mike savage calling for price controls? Then who gets the gas when the inevitable shortages hit?
Exactly. People are in line to buy it because they are nothing but herd animals and are panicing. if they buy it at that price they are stupid.
Really simple solution -- DON'T BUY IT -- if no one buys it the price will drop until people do buy it.
THe only problem I have with it really is: Are they calculating demand in realtime? and When demand goes down the prices don't.
That's silly. The "gouge" is the extra money you have to pay.
Savage is truly a wacko, not sure which side of the aile he is own, seems he swaggers to either side now and then.
When I left work there were lines at stations blocking the road and the price was almost $4.00 a gallon, but at the station just down the road there was no line but price was still high at $2.99. There is no shortage, and I doubt there will be one, except for a few stations from the run on them.
Proof of what I just said in post 88.
The stations that are raising thier prices are doing it not to "gouge" customers but to STOP THEM from buying gas.
Self fulfilling prophesy ; Gas shortage, then they see prices go up, panic buying really does cause a Spot shortage, people take that as a sign there is a shortage, price goes up furthur in attempt to stop the buying, people panic more, station runs out of fuel.
I lived in Boston for two years. Rode the T quite often.
Didn't have a car in Honolulu for a couple of years. Rode The Bus to and from work and school.
So your assumption is incorrect. I do know the general kind of people you can find on a subway or bus. I also know they are a minority of passengers.
Great - I'm passing thru this weekend !
I bet if a major distributor announced that their gasoline pipeline was down due to a pump being down in New Orleans, and that they would run out of gas in ten days, then your area would be doing the same day. Of course the companies PR should be fired, and if they cannot get a pump back on line in ten days then they should be fired also.
Yeah, but he is certainly right on the illegal immigration issue.
I didn't say I'd use mass transit for all of my transportation needs. I'd only use it to lessen my consumption of gas.
If you look up the mass transit routes and schedules, you'll be able to plan mass transit into your transportation scheme, and hopefully use it to reduce gas and oil consumption.
$2.99 in Yuba City, CA... up from $2.79 on Friday.
