Director Steven Spielberg has infuriated the residents of Budapest, Hungary with his disrespect of their daily lives, while filming new movie Munich. PageSix.com reports fuming locals have faced an array of irritations since Hollywood came to town, including having their cars, which were in Spielberg's way, towed with barely any notice, endless traffic jams and severe warnings should they attempt to take pictures of the proceedings. And city-dwellers are particularly amazed by the Americans' arrogant attitude - as they assume Budapest should be honored to be the Oscar-winning director's chosen location. A source tells PageSix.com, "The best part is (Spielberg's people) keep saying, 'This is the biggest thing ever to happen to Budapest,' which is true if you discount the whole Roman and Ottoman Empires, World Wars I and II, the fall of communism and the European Union's accession."
Sigh. Hollywood and hubris -- both start with "H".
Don't blame America, blamd Hollywood arrogance specifically. After all, Hollywood hates America...
He should get with Oprah for a massive ego contest.
WOTW was awesome. If they didn't want them to film there they shouldn't have given them permission. Filmmaking on this scale is disruptive.
Young Spielberg and his merry band left decidedly mixed memories behind at that town where he filmed most of the scenes for "Jaws". I'm assuming that, however rough-around-the-edges their behavior was, they did spread some money around the local economy.
Steven Spielberg..one truly ugly american!
I can't imagine Martha's Vineyard's liked all those fake sharks in the water.
"having their cars, which were in Spielberg's way, towed with barely any notice,"
Sounds like a limo liberals paradise. Begone silly peasant.
Another reason I left nyc - I hate living on a movie set!! ;-)

(New record: 5 posts before the usual apologist shows up!)
So where would he film if he wanted to do a movie about Budapest?
When I was younger I appreciated his talent, but now all he is is a Leftist wacko. The final straw was all the genuflecting to the Womyn's Movement in Jurassic Park.
The TV crews filming in the Park aren't much better. Especially the L&O crew. Rude and stupid.
I hope this guy someday understands that Hollywood ain't America.
Thanks for at least making your cheap shot in a smaller font.
My apologies to the people of Budapest.
It is one of America's greatest achievements though.
