I believe so. It wiped out quite a few towns. I remember that one entire town was wiped out, we worked so much I never saw the news for three weeks. But I remember the town either started with an A or an I.

They not only waited until the last minute to tell people to leave, they provided no means of escape for those who do not own vehicles or lacked the resources to leave. That's flat-out wrong.

Yeah, don't get them out of town, introduce them to some new hell by putting them in that stench-filled coffin. I meant the Astrodome btw. I don't understand why they gotta bus people all the way to the friggin Astrodome. The government should be requisitioning Hotels and schools and whatever other large buildings they need and putting cots in them, or building a tent city. Why stick them in another friggin dome with no cots or anything where your just going to have to move them in a few days.

Very well said. I completely agree. I thank God every day that we have this great man as our President.

People living on a freaking freeway. And all you're doing is sitting here bitching about it. Hop in your car, Your Majesty, and drive south. Show 'em how it's done.

There is no excuse for this in this country. NONE! It's almost embarassing.

I have to wonder why you chose your tagline. It seems that you need to take a deep breath and deal with what IS, not what could have been with different politicians in New Orleans. Not every city has the good fortune to have a Rudy Giuliani at the hem in the time of crisis. The situation is dire, and embarassment should not be your major feeling just now.

Alert! Alert.........you gotta know anybody who says that is NOT a conservative! :-) That didn't escape me at all. And the immediate shrieking and wailing about being attacked didn't help its case either.

This is an old tagline. I'll get rid of it if it pleases you.

But I remember the town either started with an A or an I. Then it was Albion. My folks didn't live far from there. There was a road up on a hill where one could see the path of the tornado. God Bless you, that was hard work!!

There is no moral difference between the bastards jacking up gas prices on inventory already purchased and the bastards looting in the streets of New Orleans.
Actually gas prices are set on a LIFO basis. In other words prices are set on a replacement cost basis and because of the high turnover of station inventory no wholesaler, refiner or retailer profits from big swings in prices unless they are playing the futures markets.

We wouldn't put up with treating animals this way. I understand things are out of their control now, but it shouldn't have even happened this way.
The people who suffered the tsunami got food and water faster than we are getting it to people in a major US city.

I had heard yesterday that martial law had been declared...then, this morning I was told "never mind" it wasn't called.
I don't know who does that...the Governor, the mayor or the POTUS, but it sounds to me like it needs to be done now.
When I hear about people breaking into hospitals and terrorizing patients and staff....and snipers shooting at police while their friends loot...
I say...call in as many National Guard as is available, and have them armed and dangerous!!!!
