It is with heavy heart I write this...
I have finally reconnected with my best friend who is a paramedic who was sent from Georgia 2 days ago to Gulf Port, Mississippi before the hurricane hit.
He just reached me within the last 10 mins via emergency cell phone to tell me he was alive.
Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis.
They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time. Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up on shore.
The stories he could tell me were brief. National Guard is on the scene and arresting anyone seen on the streets.
The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities.
More to follow....

This is terrible news. God help everyone in this terrible situation. Thank you for posting this information. It will not be the first time a freeper has had an "exclusive" story from somebody on the scene and certainly won't be the last. Prayers for all who have been affected by this tragedy.

I guess the good Lord finally decided we were getting a little too smug in the US and were due for some kind of wake up call.Don't be an idiot.

Many, many stories will be emerging only when the juice is restored I know it will take awhile. Been on the receiving end of trying to scrounge some place for a news crew to lay their heads for the p.m.
They're only human.

Well said. We have eyes and ears everywhere, more so than the msm, which gives us a big edge, and we know that it won't have the usual spin. I certainly like the "heads up" before the msm gets their dirty hands on it.. Like you said, "time will tell".

They're ordering refrigerator cars. It's gonna be kinda hard to hide a death count. I think they've just got other priorities at the moment, and an accurate death toll really isn't going to do anything productive for anyone other than the ghouls in the MSM.

I can see people stubbornly holding onto an "it can't happen here" viewpoint, because deaths in the thousands from this storm are horrible to contemplate. But I would urge everyone to go back to MFH's original post. It is not "hysterical" as some have claimed, nor is it in any way an unlikely scenario. For example, Fox News recently reported Biloxi is "destroyed" and "littered with bodies." The scenario presented by MFH's paramedic friend would seem to fit that sort of description. Those who called this storm a "monster" had it right on the money.

A rough rule of thumb is that in well-evacuated areas, 10% stayed, either because they were considered to be essential personnel or "I'm a divorced mom on duty and my kids won't be safe in the shelters", or because they were totally clueless and looked only at the way the storm was tracking earlier in the weekend (headed for Louisiana's instep).
For e.g. Gulfport, this would give 20000 stayers. If even only 10% of them lived in the surge zone....
Repeat up and down the coast.

an accurate death toll really isn't going to do anything productive for anyone other than the ghouls in the MSM. I agree. Its almost a certainty that at least a few hundred of our fellow Americans have died in this tragedy. That alone makes this a very serious and tragic event. We don't need the MSM reporting a new death toll number whenever a few more bodies are found.
To: L`enn
As the time the MSM was saying that NO "dodged a bullet," NO dodged a bullet.
But the after-effects of the Katrina, including the levys breaking, caused the bullet to circle back. But NO was spared a direct hit, which would have cause much hugher casaulties.

No problem. I just got up and noticed the post was written at about
11:00pm, so I was sure this information would be reported on Fox this morning. When I didn't see anything, I asked the question because I wondered if it was really true. The more I listen to the news on Fox this morning the more I realize that the death toll could very well (and most likely will) go over 1000, or more. Anyway, thanks for the apology--all is forgotten.
