Astonishing Exclusive From Mississippi [hundreds if not thousands dead]
Paramedic Rescue Operation | 8-31-05 | My Favorite Headache

Posted on 08/30/2005 10:10:45 PM PDT by My Favorite Headache

It is with heavy heart I write this...

I have finally reconnected with my best friend who is a paramedic who was sent from Georgia 2 days ago to Gulf Port, Mississippi before the hurricane hit.

He just reached me within the last 10 mins via emergency cell phone to tell me he was alive.

Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis.

They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time. Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up on shore.

The stories he could tell me were brief. National Guard is on the scene and arresting anyone seen on the streets.

The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities.

More to follow....

I would not be surprised, disappointed, angry or upset if no other country offered us financial support.

If you recall when we were attacked on 9/11,many Americans on this very board, said it was because other countries were envious of our good fortune, our material possessions, our way of life.

Later, when yet other countries questioned sending troops to combat terrorism,we again attributed it to petty jealousy of our comfortable life style.

Implicit in our analysis was that we were superior, feelings like that do come through and do not serve us well when something like this comes along. Furthermore we do have great resources and resourcefulness and we should be able to take care of this ourselves.

Remember after the tsunami,India refused all outside help. They said they thought they had the ability to take care of it themselves and to my knowledge they did. I think we should be able to do as they did.

And finally, one last thought on the subject,if Warren Buffet or David Rockefeller or Rupert Murdoch lost one or several of their homes and perhaps some relatives,I wouldn't consider offering them anything but my sympathy. If you extrapolate that to the greater universe-----you can see where I believe they are coming from and they are pprobably justified in thinking that way.

I don't think he had thousands of them in the same sentence as hanging from trees

"Color me skeptical"

It seemed to me that the "hours of new video" that the networks ran yesterday was actually loops from 2 or 3 helicopters, out of the dozens that must have been out assessing damage.

A more suspicious person than I might suspect that there's some censorship going on somewhere.

If that must death was happening in that area and there was NO coverage of what this guy is describing...then a giant hold would have to have opened up and swallowed up every member of the MSM in a 3 state area.

Even the local podunk news station would have gotten a story out like that by now.

Err...If the story is indeed "like that," there ain't no "podunk news station" left to get it out.

It is times such as this I realize how foolish we are to think we are smarter and more powerful than nature; and how stupid we are to think we have control over its forces.

I hear this statement always bandied about during natural disasters. Why? Who is saying they are more powerful than nature? I don't hear them. I just find it curious that there are those who must always make statements like that. It's as if they have a thing about being in a submissive position and they are actually angry at others if they do not assume a similar position of submissiveness.

This is the same MSM that tells us what the daily menu of the Natalee Hollaway killers is.

They wouldn't miss something like this.

You sir, or madam, are posting pure BS.
There are not thousands dead from this storm, nor is there a govt. cover up regarding the damage or the dead. Nor is the media covering it up. If anything, the media is looking for ways to make us look as bad as possible, and to promote the general social unrest resulting from this storm.
Yours is my favorite bunk or the day.
I have family in the region, from Canal St. in NO to Pascagoula, Miss. I am in touch with what is going on. You are either fabricating whole cloth or are passing on fabrications without applying critical thinking skills, a categorical untruth.

I agree that we should, and can, do it all on our own. I guess the question I posed was one that we all know the answer to.

Yes there is...they were all in the same areas as the MSM trucks...Orlando Salinas was using the local Fox affiliate satellite and remote trucks to broadcast from Orange Beach Alabama two nights ago.

Trust me, I'm not knocking this thread, just a head's up to MFH, the original poster, regarding what I saw at Hewitt's blog.
On another note however, I have respect for hugh Hewitt and his blog.

Some of these areas now barely have ham radio to get the news out. And by the way, those news stations you refer to as "podunk" serve a valuable purpose in the U.S.

Never thought I'd see such snobbery on a hurricane thread.

If I'm wrong...I'm wrong...I'm a journalist by trade...it's my job to be skeptical of stuff like this.

YOu get someone who comes in...drops a sensational story with no credible link to back it up other than hearsay evidence...then leaves.

Meanwhile he's successfully sent a large chunk of FR into a tizzy.

The MSM isn't going to want to report that more people died in a few hours here than soldiers died in Iraq in two years.

If the American people are to learn just how many American civilians can die in an "attack"...they might actually put the war losses back into the perspective they had on 9-11.

A 9-11 style tragedy on the Gulf Coast...would make the upcoming celebrations of the 2000th dead soldier in Iraq less compelling for the MSM.

In Germany, the top story today is the 640 dead Shiites from a panic in Baghdad. The German MSM does not want people to lose sight of the leftist ball.

This will "blow over" with the MSM reporting "hundreds dead". The MSM will not want a number above 1500, so the number of dead troops in Iraq will still seem high.

And think of what this does to Cindy Sheehan and her fake-grief crosses.

"Tass and Pravda in the USSR also blocked bad news. Sovietization of America is ongoing, and control of the news is part of it."

I would not jump to the conclusion that there is a suppression of news going on. Media personnel go where they are able to go during widespread disasters and report on the details of what they can themselves see and photograph. The result of this fact is the often distorted impression that the worst is happening in one area, since that's the area they all keep showing. Reporting is far from an exact science and when events are changing fast and confusion and panic and danger are everywhere, editors are not going to send reporters where their safety is in sure jeopardy. In this case, the devastation is in many places at once.

The media are headquartered in big cities to start with. Other reports from smaller places will surely follow in due time.
