From WWL: more anticipated flooding in Jefferson Parish, 12-15 more feet of water expected. They tried to sand bag the pump at 17th Street canal, but it backed the pump up (or some such terminology).

What I understood was that the attempt to sandbag the levy had failed, the water would continue to rise and the nearby pump would soon be overwhelmed and go off-line automatically... resulting in 12 to 15 feet of water in downtown NO.
