"...very, very few..."
WWL-TV reports more buildings collapsing last night with structural damage.
Wifey and I were discussing this last night...I know around here we have a couple of huge 'closed down' Air Force Bases (Norton and George) - complete with barracks, dining facilities, perimeter security, etc.
This type of facility has to be available all over the United States.
They're simply relocating the people in the SuperDome, which needs to be done, period.
FEMA mentioned in that presser that they were building/buying housing for them and other refugees for a long term solution. The AstroDome is merely a move to buy them time to do so - a place with power, A/C, sanitation, etc., etc.
The Japanese "get" natural disasters...God bless 'em.
I saw a Louisiana politician this morning saying that only the president can "do something" Everyone seems to think that everyone else has the answer.
If the water is still rising at 1 inch per hour in downtown NOLA, how long before the French Quarter is underwater? (something like 13ft about seas level)
Don't get me started....
That is what I'm thinking. How hard is to to understand that those people need water NOW. Helicopters could drop some easy. Where are the choppers from the news people? Can't they take some water when they go up?
Do you have a link or is it on their website?
The Breweries actually do donate canned water for emergency use.
Ah, another GW owner. AKA a fellow masochist.
Saw that 80 year old gent on Fox walking all morning to get to the Dome for water.
What is DHS? I could go if needed!
Despite having insignificant oil and gas themselves, Japan does keep a 90 day strategic supply of oil (however, it is dispersed around Japan rather than our system of four very large storage sites in Texas and Louisiana); Japan also has major oil operations that do production outside of Japan.
Actually, the water they are donating *IS* in beer bottles.
well..... my little kids last night asked if they could *adopt* a grandma or grandpa, or both, that had no where to go... (we have a spare room). However we live in the Pacific Northwest.... not exactly close by.
Out of the mouths of babes....they have a plan!
