The Event We're Protesting: The Navy's "Blue Angels" Air Show
Theme of Our Protest: "Stop the Worship of the Gods of War!"
On Sat., Sept. 10th, Maine Veterans for Peace will be joined by other major peace and justice groups (see list of co-sponsors below) in a massive protest:
. to protest the false god idolatry of the Blue Angels Air Show, whose "ooh-&-aah"performances have one purpose: to promote badly-lagging military recruitment to protest the obscene waste of American tax dollars to stage these Blue Angels' multi-million dollar extravaganzas
. to protest Bush's immoral, monomaniacal Iraq war -- nearly 1,800 U.S. and 100,000 Iraqi civilians dead, at a cost of over $300 billion, and still counting
. to protest NASB's complicity with the war machine, providing surveillance aircraftto target ground forces, which in the end cause horrendous "collateral damage"
. to challenge NASB to convert to peaceful purposes, creating good-paying high-tech/industrial jobs, making products that improve lives, not end them

REPORT ON GODS OF WAR DEMONSTRATION PLANNING MEETING
VETERANS FOR PEACE PLANNING STATEWIDE DEMO
On September 10, Maine Veterans for Peace (VFP) will hold a statewide demonstration in Brunswick to protest the planned appearance of the Navy's "Blue Angels" flight performance team. Calling their action "Stop the Worship of the Gods of War! Say No to the Blue Angels Air Show," VFP is planning a rally on the Brunswick mall to be followed by a march to the front gate of the Naval Air Station. Over 40,000 people are expected to attend the air show thus creating the opportunity to reach with many with our anti-war message.
The VFP intends to concentrate on four key themes as it builds this action. The themes are the obvious idolatry of weapons, the enormous cost of war as social spending is cut, the need for conversion of the military-industrial complex, and the military recruiting nature of the air show.
Peace groups in Maine are invited to join as co-sponsors of the action and are invited to the next planning meeting. It will be held on June 25 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Brunswick public library. Call Bruce Gagnon at 729-0517 for more details.
A meeting was held in Brunswick today to plan for the Veterans for Peace demonstration set for September 10 to protest the Navy's Blue Angels Air show that will be held at the Naval Air Station Brunswick (NASB) on September 10-11.
The meeting was attended by Jack Bussell, Bob Lezer, John Wirtz, Peter Stewart, Dud Hendrick, Christine DeTroy and Bruce Gagnon.
Im so sick of this Sheehan b*tch I could puke. I come home from work everyday and see her ugly mug on the TV spewing anti-american rhetoric. Its enough to make a man want to strangle her. :|

Horowitz's books are eye openers. I started with Hating Whitey, the title alone caught my eye. Then I read Unholy Alliance and Radical Son. I can really relate to him as an ex-leftist myself. There is no bottom low enough for the putrid left to sink to.
These people have gone beyond annoying. They are dangerous to national security. Any doubts that they would sabotage military planes and equipment, at any cost to the pilots?
What a GREAT idea!!!
Step 1: Inform conservative counterprotestors of plan to buzz. Set up time.
Step 2: Three hours before buzz, disable portapotties at Liberal protest site.
Step 3: At two minutes to predetermined buzz time, have confrontational spike in protest activity to draw attention of liberal protestors. Two minutes was chosen to fit mean attention span of liberal protesters in minutes. Have George W. Bush or Dick Cheney lookalike (wearing kevlar vest, of course) make appearance to be sure no libs are ignoring activity. For special effect, obtain black SUV's and limos. Black helicopters would also be good, but we don't want them to flee in terror. IMPORTANT: COUNTERPROTEST SHOULD FORCE ALL LIBERALS TO LEAVE THEIR SIX UNGUARDED AND UNOBSERVED.
Step 4: ALL BLUE ANGELS APPROACH FROM LIBERAL SIX POSITION AT FULL AFTERBURNER, AT MACH 1.5 AND AN ALTITUDE OF 25 FEET. They are the Blue Angels...they can do this...:)
Step 5: At 5 seconds to supersonic flyover, all convervative protestors hit the dirt and clap hands over their ears. This will freeze the Liberals in position as they wonder what is going on.
Step 6: Have Maine State Police enforce Dog laws by making Liberals clean up doody deposited on the ground.

Of course, the taxpayers don't pay for these events. The sponsors of the airshow pay for all expenses related to the Blue Angels. But why lets small things like facts get in the way of a good protest slogan?
How dare she even mention the name of the Blue Angels! She and the bottom-feeders behind her hysterionics wouldn't know what it takes to be an Air Force pilot, let alone a Blue Angel!

This gathering will probably be less well-received than her protest (by Code Pink - her operatives) at Walter Reed Army Hospital!
In fact, I've been to a few airshows in my time, and her "crowd" will be WAY-outnumbered... and by HUNDREDS, if not THOUSANDS of Patriotic Americans! Now that, my friends, might be fun to watch!
As a Marine said about the idiot protestors outside of a fellow Marine's funeral: "If I'm willing to take a bullet for a fellow Marine, I'm damn sure happy to go to jail for him."
Oh yes, you are right about that. The fact they will be WAY outnumbered! Every time the Blue Angels come to my town, THOUSANDS of folks show up.

It was an interesting idea, but I don't even think that this will be needed at the Blue Angels air show... people are not going to put up with Cindy Sheehan's antics.
