I fear the worst for Bay St. Louis and Pass Christian. There has been absolutely no reports of any type from that area. Not citizen or officials.

Yeah, and no reporters set themselves up there.

The closest was Cantore in Gulfport who is largely incommunicado (but physically alright, apparently.)

CNN: Gulfport: Interstate is impassable, littered with all sorts of household debris (refrigerators, etc.), downtown was at a time under 12' of water, 2+ miles of town is still flooded, devastating damage(according to the reporter), several rescues, looters already striking.

anecdotal info, Bay St Louis. a friend of mine has family down there they spoke to them at 1 pm and they are on a high spot 27 ft above sea level 3 blocks from beach. water was flooding their house at that time. no news since.

How are things in Monkey Town? We've had three tornado warnings here in Lee County already.

I have a fondness for that area. One of the races I ran in the Gulf Coast Running Club in the 80s was the "Pass to the Bay" and did 6.4 miles, a bit over 10K between the towns. I am picturing a bridge that could have been taken out or damaged by the storm. I speak now from a safe distance inside the DC Beltway.
