CNN- Sanchez: Spoke to official: can confirm a 200' break in the 17th St. Canal .. the Lake is above New Orleans ..

Jeeze .. this news was out hours ago, and if someone hasn't even announced the problem and spoken about solutions and thier evacuation plans for the further flooding, my mind is boggled. I think people must be paralyzed by the enormity of all the problems .. I can't imagine what the h*ll is going on. SOMEbody has to have some kind of plan to prevent the additional deaths that are surely coming.

Ok this clarifys it a little this is not as desperate as I thought it was. This is referring to the canal that goes to lake that the actual levee on the lake itself. Still bad but not devasting and uncontrollable as a breach on the lake itself

"200' break"

THat's less than the 440 yds(2 blocks) that appeared earlier on the thread. 200' is only about 67yds.
