THat's less than the 440 yds(2 blocks) that appeared earlier on the thread. 200' is only about 67yds.

go to above post about discussion at www.tigerdroppings.com its serious but the guy there is right and the guys on cnn are misunderstanding some classic new orleans speak being local lingo the local think you understand when dealing with locations

That's a HUGE hole in the dike holding a HUGE lakefull of jillions of cu. yards of water, which is above the city. The water is continuously flowing out now and has been since late this morning. There's 6 ft. of water in downtown NO now, and more constantly pouring in. The gal at Tulane Hosp. said the water was rising an inch every 5 mins., I believe, and we've heard nothing about repairing the breach or even any official announcement of this dangerous problem.

The place and the surrounding areas are already flooded .. where will all the water go?
