It is not possible they have made it into all dwellings this quickly following the storm. I don't have a death toll wish, it takes time to canvass the areas. On the flip side, if most of the residents evacuated, then this could be a reasonably accurate number.

Well one thing the reporter in Gulfport said was that many of those homes closest to the ocean were pricy, so I would guess most of those owners evacuated(probably some of those were 2nd homes also.) An update from our Dallas CBS local news is that most of the deaths were in a single apartment complex in Biloxi.
