Well one thing the reporter in Gulfport said was that many of those homes closest to the ocean were pricy, so I would guess most of those owners evacuated(probably some of those were 2nd homes also.) An update from our Dallas CBS local news is that most of the deaths were in a single apartment complex in Biloxi.

Old Mandeville....expected 20 foot of storm surge....got 13 feet....

so many trees and wires down....couldnt investigate

rest of mandeville is wind damaged.....40 percent of trees down....

Tcefuncta river was overflowing its banks, homes took on water in that area.....

woodridge subdivision was fine


Slidell took it hard
