Any chance you could start a thread IX?
Reading reports from anonymous posters on the forums of local media websites:
Most of East NO is under water(5 to 12ft).
Harvey/Gretna areas (I believe directly Southeast of the Superdome and Canal St.) are flooding due to pump failure(~5 feet).
Gran Isle has been cut in two.

Just heard from my dad in Lakeview. He is on Colbert Street, South of Harrison. All the cars are covered and there is about two feet of water in our house (and we are three feet elevated). He is in the attic right now with an axe, two dogs, a cat, and two birds. Our other two birds have already died. Please pray that the water stops rising. I heard the 17th street canal has been breeched.

Perhaps not surprisingly, I was watching Baton Rouge TV and listening to BR radio. Area around Plantation Coffee House is flooded (what's new?) Areas on I-10 near Metarie Road underpass is hugely flooded. A lot of vets near Transcontinental is flooded.
Not sure near my house.

I agree. It would be nice to see at least "one more" hurricane thread. FR is about the only place to get good news on what is going on once one weeds through the regular gab.
Will do...
Thanks for posting that. I will pray for the man with all the animals.
Harvey and Gretna are on the south side of the River from New Orleans.
