Has anybody heard anything out of Thibodaux or Covington, La.? My parents live in the first (they are in NY this week) and I have other relatives in Covington.
Has anyone heard anything abour Mandeville? I have inlaws here in GA that just escaped the wrath of Katrina.
Don't have anything directly on Thibodaux, but a few hours ago a reporter who road the storm out in Houma said he didn't see any major structural damage there, unlike what he did see as he got close to New Orlean.
Likely, electricity is out in those locations. The wait is excrutiating, but we should be hearing reports soon as the weather clears out. I know we have FReepers living in Covington.

TWC just reported from Covington. Didn't catch it all, but it didn't look too bad, typical snapped tree limbs and such.
Saw a report from Houma, no major damage there......no mention of Thibodeaux.
I too cannot believe anyone would ride it out in Grand Isle......
