Will do my best, but am not a typist. I am also upset right now...

The thing that is making me panicky is the potential for the wind to get under the roof and then lift more and more sections off. Then what happens to the walls, which are hanging off the roof.

As long as there isn't a progression of peeling, hopefully it will hold the walls up... I am not an engineer, but am married to a pretty smart architect, who feeds me info as he works. He also says that the engineers know much more than he does. He understands the principles, but they know the details behind the principals..

Maybe the hole will allow pressure to equalize on both sides and keep the whole thing from failing. I'm not a structural engineer though.

The national guard has an engineer in the dome specifically to monitor and assess any such problems such as this. He was quite confident that this is fairly superficial damage(roof fabric) not structural damage. Just interviewed on Fox.
