Good news.

Local TV last night showed many Louisiana license plates in hotel parking lots.

I haven't heard anymore reports from the TV reporter inside the Superdome. Don't know why.

If you're talking about Brian Williams, maybe because he was scaring the snot outta the folks inside? Maybe someone muzzled him.

No, its a standard practice not to have cameras INSIDE a shelter. Its a privacy thing.

I been on and off, so am not your best source - and must get to work. But, as she came ashore, all the heads were talking about dodging a bullet. The eye seemed to break up on the west side.

Six feet of water in a Grand Isle gov't bldg.

Water coming into the Dome. Center still south of NO, I think

Shep reporting the pumping stations in the city have stopped.

Some structural damage, windows blown off, another roof peeled off. Another 30 minutes to an hour to the worst part.

Oh. I had that all wrong about eyewall replacement. Thanks.

I don't think you were wrong, but I'm no expert on this....

***

eyewall replacement is what made katrina go from a category 2 to a category 5 almost overnight 2 days ago.

Just talked to my dad in Baton Rouge. He's getting ready to drive to the Coffee Call for his morning coffee, wanted to talk about his latest lawsuit.

He's close to LSU, so Baton Rouge is OK. He told me to watch CNN and FOX, they have the news! ;^)

Shep didn't know he was on live for a sec there...he sounded pretty frantic..he's confirming pumps are out- need emergency generators but wherever it is they go to get them started isn't safe- so I guess they're waiting..for something?
