----Why do I get the feeling we have some Dems on this thread? Cannot feature anyone else defending the Mayor.----

I'd be surprised.... but if you're praying for New Orleans, as most good Freepers have been, you're praying for a whoooooooole lot of Democrats. Louisiana is still a blue state.

Is/Was there a real estate bubble going on? Last time I looked at Realtor.com there were some pretty pricey homes.

They maybe be locally Dems, but nationally they went for Bush 57%.

I would be seriously disappointed in anyone who would turn a natural disaster for ALL Americans into a political issue. When push comes to shove, in any tragedy, or looming disaster, it matters not whether you are a Republican, Democrat or some other political persuasion. We, as fellow Americans, have a duty to pray for each other in times of need and do our best to lend a helping hand. :)

When someone brings Pres Bush's speaking ability and compares it to the Mayor, it is apples and oranges IMHO and smacks of what the RATs always bring up -- thus my comments.

Prayers go out to all of the people in the way of this hurricane but I am not changing my mind on the Democrat Governor or the Mayor who didn't take action rapidly enough IMHO.

No, Louisiana is pretty evenly split.
