I don't think Shep will live. This is unbelievable that he is staying in this hotel. Why the hell didn't he get out or at least go to the Super Dome.
Even Geraldo isn't there..that should tell him something.
There's a guy with a surfboard in the Alabama surf as Katrina head for NOLA.
I'm sure the manager has a safe room
for Shep to stay in.
Hey! I've seen Geraldo standing in the
center of a storm next to a tree in FL,
that began to topple in front of him.
Shep should at least get to a taller building. I haven't been to Bourbon street in 25 years, but I remember some buildings neaarby with a few more floors.
He could walk to the Superdome in twenty minutes. I wouldn't go in that thing.
I'm betting they end up at the Superdome like the Fox reporter who is doing live interviews. That guy said he was going to be in the Superdome with them, which I think is a good thing. Seeing some well-known, famous, or wealthier people in the shelters may bring a calm to the poor and stranded - like they are all in it together and not being singled out for certain death. That's my opinion.
How many floors does that hotel have? If at least 3, and preferably 4 or 5, then he should likely be ok, unless there is a tornado. With 5 floors or 4 and an attic level the lower 2, or at most 3 would see the flooding, the roof might come off the top one, but the 3rd or 4th floor should be fine. It is amazing what people have survived before, even if they had to cling to logs for 12 hours. Its the elderly, infirmed, and kids that are at most risk.
