I'm going to try to hang in there. I tried to convince my wife's cousin this afternoon to leave New Orleans, but he's chosen not to. Fortunately he doesn't have a family living with him because I'm afraid he's made a fatal choice. Maybe he'll head for a shelter in time, I dunno.
I've gone from the fear and sorrow stage to the numb stage. I couldn't post here for several hours. I'm numb now. Numb is better.

I took a couple hours away too...my son called me from Ft. Campbell...we've had a great chat..he's my treasure.
I'm also numb...this is all so impossible to grasp.

I'm very sorry for you. Very sad. The weather news remains very bad for NO. Pray it turns more sharply to the east and blows away the Mississippi casinos if you are selfish. But are know you are not. You just feel a personal pain, from which there is no escape. None.

I don't even understand why the reporters are there - it's a bad example, and false sense of security.
