I simply cannot agree with the forecast. The steering currents do not appear adequate to turn this mammoth storm that far North in the remaining run over the water.

I would bet that it comes ashore well to the West On New Orleans.

Just an educated opinion, having spent a good deal of time in that area -- and looking at alot of weather charts in my flying days along the Gulf Coast.

I haven't looked at the AV forecasts or WX charts, but I believe there is a very large upper trough that is predicted to pull the storm more N/NE.

Not that I would bet the farm on that. 8^)
