so we'd have Iraq as a staging point.

Passage of the Iraq constitution will be the signal to the dissidents in Iran to start their overthrow with a friendly and fortified Iraq at their back.

FWIW, I'd rather have a special prosecutor. There aren't enough people I'd trust in Congress to investigate this. The entire body sat silent while the Commission did its dirty work.

We certainly know that Iraq knew that 9/11 was coming. Unless we believe that Osama was just gossiping with Saddam, I have to believe Saddam was somehow involved. Iran too. They ALL work together in their hatred for the west.

Less than two months before 9/11/01, the state-controlled Iraqi newspaper “Al-Nasiriya” carried a column headlined, “American, an Obsession called Osama Bin Ladin.” (July 21, 2001)

In the piece, Baath Party writer Naeem Abd Muhalhal predicted that bin Laden would attack the US “with the seriousness of the Bedouin of the desert about the way he will try to bomb the Pentagon after he destroys the White House.”

The same state-approved column also insisted that bin Laden “will strike America on the arm that is already hurting,” and that the US “will curse the memory of Frank Sinatra every time he hears his songs” – an apparent reference to the Sinatra classic, “New York, New York”.

The people in this country act as if 911 had never happened.

Or...by now they have become so detached they feel it's NYC's problem. The spirit of 'our nation', 'our country' or 'our homeland' just doesn't seem to exist! Too many of our residents have feelings and allegiances elsewhere!!!

Except I thought one of the revelations coming out of this---seem to have picked this up somewhere---was that it was showing IRAQ also involved. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

This certainly provides a motive for Berger's burgling.

"Commission staff members had discovered a document from a U.S. intelligence agency that described in detail Iran's ties to al-Qaeda, he said. It had been buried at the bottom of a huge stack of highly classified documents on other subjects that had been delivered to a special high-security reading room in an undisclosed location in Washington, DC."

much more than clinton operatives or sandy berger could destroy.

It is such a pain in the arse to sign into Captains Quarters that I will use FR to tell the Captain that his report that Atta and Benalshib met in Madrid is wrong, they actually met in Tarragona. The interesting aspect of this is that the German intelligence service notified the Spanish intelligence service of Benalshib's arrival in Spain. Simultaneously, Atta arrived by plane from the USA, rented a car, and met Benalshib in Tarragona. It is quite possible that the German service is now aware that it screwed up as badly as the CIA and is thus attempting to cover its tail.

You can take it to the bank that if Iran's ties to 9/11 were ever mentioned by President Bush, the left would immediately charge him with trying to spread false rumors to justify an attack on that country.
The left would not be convinced by any evidence, unless Bush could produce a video tape, with audio, of Atta saying a last goodbye to the Iranian mullahs the day before 9/11.
In my opinion, hearings or no hearings, findings or no findings, this story, as far as the MSM is concerned, is deader than the Air America financial scandal.
The need for cover up is so great that the powers that be will stop at nothing to kill it. Why, just the other day I listened in amazement as an MSM reporter implied that Able Danger had, in their files, evidence against - Condi Rice! This not so subtle attempt to blackmail her into participating in the cover up is typical of the lengths that the guilty will go to save themselves.

I think any ommissions by the 9-11 comm. are for Bill and Hill's protection and to make sure public sintiment towards other ME nations remain favorable for the benefit of the no-war crowd. Iran is behind alot of what's been happening for along time. It's about time to make them ante up and pay the piper, before it's too late.

Nevertheless, despite all of this, we actually find ourselves at war with IRAN. Undeclared as of yet, but to the point that the Pakistanis are starting to signal their opposition to the US invading Iran.

The big development is that the CIA nest is finally being cleaned out.

CIA Panel: 9/11 Failure Warrants Action

Still, we have always had the Copperheads at our backs when a Republican President was in charge during war. The difference is that this time, the Anti-war movement has a big problem. The Terrorists are not Communists. The Left has to avert their eyes to the clear and public goal of Al Queda, the reestablishment of the Caliphate and global domination, religious and political by Islam.

So, the left needs to have their collective noses rubbed in the crap they are trying to sell. Its up to us to do our part to show the way.

Regarding the Leftists:

Unholy Alliance : Radical Islam and the American Left (Hardcover)
by David Horowitz

(REAL NAME)
I had long wondered why people on the Left had the propensity to speak more positively about people who would slit their throats than they do about their own country, which affords them more freedom and opportunity than anywhere else. David Horowitz has answered that question thoroughly and convincingly in his Unholy Alliance. Where I felt bewildered and confused, I now feel crystal clear. Unholy Alliance is such a great book.

It begins with the leftist movements at the beginning of the 20th Century, and works its way up to the present day, exploring the anti-American attitude of these movements in detail. Horowitz shows that the enemies of the US back then are largely the same group today, operating under the same misperceptions, making the same mistakes, and pursuing the same impossible utopia.

Individual chapters are included on the Patriot Act (I was persuaded that it is a GOOD thing); the democratic flip-flop on Iraq once G.W. Bush implemented what they agreed with Clinton needed to be done; the driving components of the current anti-war movement; as well as chapters on individual personalities who are major spokespeople of the Left. Horowitz covers a lot of ground, and he covers it concisely and clearly. Unholy Alliance is richly informative without ever being boring or plodding.

This book is so illuminating that I simply cannot do justice to it here. I love people who reason so clearly that they help me get my own reasoning clear. Horowitz is just that type of person! In the terrain of mindless clichés (no-blood-for-oil, etc.), he is a breath of real fresh air.

If you examine the politics of New York and the slimy cruds they elect, you can understand the feeling of "who cares" from the red counties. Have you noticed NYC was attacked, and all their elected representatives can do is impede the effort to confront and disarm the attackers!

Amazing. Thank you for posting that link...And Timmerman's book is one I have to read as well.

It is apparent that the 911 Commission needs to add another failure statement to it's missive....a 'failure to control ego'.

The sheer arrogance of officials up and down the ranks of the CIA, Justice Dept., NSA, the Commission itself, etc. is SO loud and clear...if they didn't think of it or they didn't own the source then it was discounted utterly, however, the coverup of those arrogant actions is the more sinister.
