Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.
Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!
Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.
They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.
The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.
Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.
To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!
That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.
CNN just reporting on the event ... characterizing it as two groups across the street from each, being kept apart by the police, and just yelling at each other, with the cops hopeful that the 100 degree temp. would keep tempers down 'cause they'll get tire out. Typical. Above the din, our side's screams of "USA >> USA" were loud and clear.
You should see the March for Life in January. Over a million people...they show no coverage or say it's a couple thousand. Disgusting.
I agree, but geez, can't they wait for 1 hour??
FNC just said the Gov of LA and mayor of New Orleans will be coming up. The Gov was just on. Sorry, I know it could be a terrible catastrophe if Katrina hits New Orleans, and I don't mean to slight it, but can't we have ONE OR TWO HOURS!!!
They went non-stop all weekend w the John Kennedy Jr crash and we can't even get a lousy hour. Frustrated (but so excited for the FReepers that are there)
Another historic event, and FreePers are there!
PLEASE, give us the link to email FOX!!
No doubt about that. She's whacked.
I am so glad this messageboard is so active. I am just dying because I didn't go to Crawford.
I hope that everyone will avoid confrontation of any kind with the Cindy Side so we can show them that we're able to rise above their hatred and vitriole.
I hope there are lots of videos being made and pictures taken. I will definitely buy some. This is history in the making.
Thanks for your marvelous report. It's in the 80's here--so why did I have goosebumps while reading it? I have a feeling you are going to have quite a crowd of freepers there today! Hope word of this tribute is being sent to our troops.
AliVerita, do you have an email address? I'm on the Fox news site but want to send it direct to the blond that is broadcasting right now.
Folks, I can tell you that Basil wishes everyone reading this could be there with them! She calls and just lets me listen to what is going on.
This time a man was singing the national anthem. The crowd was so loud at the end that I thought it was a flyover by an airplane! LOL
Again, the connection isn't very good so I don't always get a lot of info to report before we can just say, "later".
Don't you wish you could call the broadcaster directly while he was lying on air nad fact check him with proof on camera. We knew they would do this though. But guess what, when the Neo Nazis get there they have to take their focus off the left for a while right...unless they go for the ever wanted closeup of Rev. Al.
Welcome to FR!
eeuuww
jeez
The MSM is desperately looking for stories to bury this event...
Because it's a funny pic???
Not only are FReepers there, they helped organize it!
My fear is they'll just report it to make it look like the neo nazis are a "far right wing group" --
