Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.
Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!
Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.
They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.
The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.
Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.
To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!
That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.
I couldn't get it to come up on my computer...but I am bookmarking this thread...and I will ask my husband tomorrow...and see if he can...
I have Windows Media...but anything other than that, I don't know about...
If you make a DVD...put me down for one...for sure!!!

I imagine most of America will cringe. The contrast between the two camps can easily be seen just in the photos. I am so thankful for the people that went to Crawford this weekend. We can't have another silent majority ever again.

Somewhere in these Cindy threads is a link to a website about her that has about a dozen pictures of her at the Arlington Cemetery protest, where anti-US people walked with the fake coffins. She was smilin' for the camera there, too. She is a caricature of a grieving mother.

That preacher that is going to those military funerals and protesting was on KLIF a few weeks ago with Darrell Ankarlo...
At first Ankarlo was kind of being facetious with him, letting him spew his nasty stuff, then Ankarlo would have a sarcastic come back...but he got madder at the preacher the longer they talked because he was disgustingly disrespectful!
Anyway, finally Ankarlo asked him, "I have a son in Iraq right now. If he were to get killed there, would come to his funeral and protest and "spit on his grave"?"
The guy says YES, he would---ANkarlo went ballistic and really told him off...I was actually worried about him..he just really went off on the preacher...
But, it didn't even affect the preacher...he is said it is his "calling" to do this, and do this, he shall.
Thanks for the reply. I wish I could believe it... that people can see that our folks at Camp Qualls are sincere. But most people don't pay that much attention. They think if they see it on the b'cast news it is true. And if they do not see it on their TV - it did not happen!
That is why I am so frustrated. People in this country (well, all people I guess) are influenced by what they see others doing. Seeing this might strengthen their support for the war. Seeing Cindy will weaken it.
And the MSM makes damn sure that the American public does not SEE or HEAR us - at all. Ever. No matter what we do.
They know damn well we're out here. They saw the election returns. Over half of this country is conservative. But they figure if they keep feeding us liberal shiq, we will grow to like it. You think the MSM isn't feeling too good right now... because they know we're out here. I just don't get that. Sure, they are losing audience, losing ratings, losing ad dollars. But EVEN THOUGH IT IS AGAINST THEIR OWN INTERESTS - they keep up with the bias.
Not that I watch much TV... but I am not watching at all anymore. And I am going to write and tell them why. If they want to reach me (if they ever decide to present my point of view as reasonable and worthwhile), they know where to find me - on the Internet.

Referring to Phelps as a "preacher" is a disservice to all honest hard working preachers of all religions. I don't think this man has an honest or Christian bone left in his body. Surely, he has no soul for doing this.

ABC....NBC......they are all the same. I just watched my NBC local news and this is their version of fair reporting.
First a shot showing Cindy speaking for all those mothers etc.who have lost their loved ones.
Second...the other side..they showed the guy who got arrested and said he was representing the pro-war group and was going to be charged with trying to incite a riot!!
Then they said the total for BOTH groups combined was 3,000. At this point I was screaming at the TV while rushing to the computer to write my Channel 11 a nasty note for their crappy reporting.......not that I'm surprised. Not once did they show the thousands of supporters...only the one man handcuffed and being put in a police car....
So typical.....and then my doctor wonders why I have high blood pressure........
With that said, Why does ANY outlet/media/political group project this Sheehan woman as someone worth listening to?
We have no information about her education or her early married/mothering years - we don't even know what position she held in the vaguely referenced 'human services organization' she was so recently fired from.
If there was any 'there' there, we would have heard about it (so as to add stature to her 'character'). Instead, it is obvious that she is just a 2 dimensional walking weeping ignoramus, with the intellect of a 12 year old and the balls of a steelworker.
The transparency of the biased media is overwhelming, in that they choose to promote HER views over those of military historians, political specialists, the President and Administration officials, and most galling, educated everyday Americans.
