need a ping to the documentary...
It's a rule of journalism (often left behind by agenda driven libnews) that you lead with the story that will affect the most people. As significant as theis rally is, Katrina will affect more people today.
A sheriff deputy (R) watches pro-war demonstrators near U.S. President George W. Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas, August 27, 2005. Authorities reported little trouble from the several thousand people that descended upon Crawford to demonstrate for and against the Iraq war. REUTERS/Jeff MitchellI prefer the term "pro-"military" demonstrators.
Thanks, that worked for me!!! Great pictures!
It's a shame she had to go in person and remove the cross baring her late husband's name being used for propaganda purposes.
Sheesh. It's been explained to you several times. Not everyone has your apparent ability to read the tiny print from that far away. What about that do you not understand?
Deal with it.
What's up?
I loved your post! I'm a little late to the Crawford party, but two flat tires in 24 hours sorta had me tied up! (Don't ask. I need to keep my blood pressure from boiling over, but they were TWO flat tires on TWO brand new tires.)
Anyway, I couldn't agree more with the words you posted.
As Rush said a week or so, "the poor woman, she's having a nervous breakdown in the middle of Texas" and there's no one to grab her and take her the heck home.
I feel for her. I really do. I visit the wounded at Walter Reed and I can't tell you how many of the fmaily members I've wound up ministering to - as they experience the shock of seeing their brother/husband/Daddy without an arm, a leg, an eye, or some of the all of the above, for the first time. It isn't easy. They, to my mind, are as brace as those who have come without a piece of themselves, courtesy of the those damn IED's.
But gees, will someone gag Cindy, tell her the Left is using her, and get her the heck outta town?
Her 15 minutes were up, 16 long days ago.
"I'm going to be sad to leave on August 31st," Sheehan told the crowd. "And you know what? I won't be escaping. I'll be going, and we're going, to take Camp Casey to Congress.
Among those in the Sheehan camp was folk singer and social activist Joan Baez, who mingled among the crowd in a white cowboy hat with a purple flower in the brim.
Code Pink founder Diane Wilson is leading a hunger strike until Bush meets with her in person
for a second time. The website AfterDowningStreet.org also demands a face-to-face meeting. That website's coalition members include Code Pink, Global Exchange, Rainbow/PUSH, Louisiana Activist Network, the Earth Island Institute, Historians Against the War, Veterans for Peace, Radio Left, and others. Notable individuals offering their support to the website include Daniel Ellsberg, of Pentagon Papers infamy; Robert Shetterly; and Joel Wendland, Managing Editor of Political Affairs, a journal of the Communist Party USA.
And some 40 Congressional Democratic have signed a letter urging President Bush to meet Sheehan, as well. Among its signatories: Reps. George Miller, Barbara Lee, Zoe Lofgren, Mike Honda, Lynn Woolsey, and Pete Stark (all those listed, Democrats from California).
The van behind him was one of the shuttles from the "peace house" to Camp Casey or as I like to hear it be called: Camp Cindy - far more fitting.
Save it to hard disk and play it via real player that worked fine for me.
Oh hell I gave my real name and hometown to a reporter today, hope they like diversity.
Oh, Wow!
Fantastic video.
Have to admit I'd probably end up there too... There is a time and place for protesting on both sides, NOT at a soldier's funeral - that's just plain disgusting. Sounds like they're going to have trouble though they might be trying to lock up half the town! I just hope for everyone's sake things don't get too out of hand. Tempers flare so easily...
The swimming hole was visible if you crossed the bridge on the far side of Crawford. You probably came in from the Crawford side and didn't see it.
I will want to steer cleer for a while while the E. Coli settles down after the hippies swim in it.....
I suspect Geroldo and FOX were hoping that sparks would fly between the pro-troop mom and the anti-American dad. The mom showed an enormous amount of restraint I thought, trying to be respectful of the dad's ill-informed views.
"My big, fat mouth spouts off a lot more than it should sometimes."
I have empathy with you. Has reached the point where I make "WAY" too many comments. It is not New Years eve, but I am making a resolution to cut back in that regard. (right after this one) (:>)
