Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.
Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!
Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.
They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.
The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.
Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.
To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!
That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.
Uh-oh, PETA won't like that picture--innocent horses used for Republican propaganda! /s
Now it's telling me I have to have a password. I don't have one.
Oh !I want that sign! Thats hysterical!!! Exactly what I've always wanted to tell the liars to their face! LOL
Great post, thanks
Truth is, I'm not part of the brotherhood..........yet.
Their with Cindy Sheehan et al
Sadly, a dozen or so of the Fred Phelps Fruit Loops were there. also. However, they were roped off into a small area about 100' X 200' with a couple of cops apparantly all but daring them to step outside their assigned area. I guess this marginalized these asshats as much as legally possible, although I had to restrain the urge to get out of my truck and beat the shit out of the adults and spank the children's butts.

There. That's better.
Sorry I got the impression that it was one word from the print media, I should have known it was wrong! ;)
Oh, both sides want you to think there are more people there than there really are. And they showed some empty tents.
If it weren't for FR, we would have no idea what was really going on.
For those of you concerned about the people in New Orleans.....
In 1965 for hurricane Betsy, the Army Corps of Engineers blew the levy that protected Chalmette and Western New Orleans from the waters of the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet so that the city itself would survive. Chalmette and Western New Orleans flooded but not to catastrophic degrees. The city was saved from major flooding.
I imagine they would do the same thing again.
Thanks, we'll gratefully accept all the blessings & prayers we can get. Are there ever enough?
Now you're scaring me! :) Only those who have attained true conservative enlightenment can see FR TV ... (spooky :)
I pray that there are people dogging her every move. That she's not going to be the media darling without seeing the patriotic side of the issue.
LOL
Now that I'm replying to a post, I will be 400 behind. :)
Hi Leni! Met you and Julie at the luncheon (which you very generously paid for!)after the support our troops rally in Sarasota.
The hurricane is, of course, serious and important news but Fox's constant pictures of cars on a highway heading out of NO doesn't seem to be helpful to anyone.
Greg Kelly did, finally, show some pictures of the pro-troops, pro-Bush people. He mentioned that these groups were in 3 different places. Too bad John Gibson is not on today. He is definitely on the "right" side and he's not afraid to say so.....God bless him!
Thank you. You have a wonderful child.
