Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.
Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!
Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.
They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.
The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.
Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.
To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!
That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.
That was beautiful! I'm going to save that! I will pass along your message to our son. God bless all of you who support our troops and their mission! chena
Here's the info being fed to the DUmp...

2. Hilarious!
Cindy was on wbai just now, and said that busload after busload are coming-she's greeting them-there's about a 1000 there now. The radio guy said that the rw is saying 3000 will be there for the anti-Cindy rally; Cindy said that she'd heard they were expecting 200!

Thanks for posting that link....NRO has really been a good source for up to date reports this last week or so.
They are our friends, but only to the extent that they're the only ones who will give us BOTH sides of the story. Those who think they're a conservative news channel aren't really paying attention.
Let's see how the MSM will report on this big crowd. I'll almost bet the MSM reports will be blatantly against the pro-War on Terror supporters.
26 vehicles? That's it? [sigh]

(Reverse Time Order More Recent Entries Toward Top)Updates from:
'You Don't Speak For Me, Cindy' Campaign
Deborah Mathews reporting for The Iconoclast12:25 a.m.
PIRATE FIELD, Crawford, Texas Yellow ribbons are tied around trees, telephone poles, and tent poles throughout this area. Several individual initiatives are taking place at various sites throughout the Crawford area. American flags are everywhere.
Singing is going on as I stand by a van that says FreeRepublic.com. A lot of people are leading dogs around. A huge American flag is hanging from a type of crane and it has pictures and little signs all over it. It is about 75 feet tall.
Many red, white, and blue balloons and banners are around.
A FreeRepublic member commented that the gathering is about protecting the troops in Iraq. Some of the activities of anti-war protestors directly endanger our troops, he said.
Media is out in full force at this site.
It was noted that Camp Qualls is not part of this rally, which is sponsored by MoveAmericaForward and FreeRepublic.
The California caravan has not yet arrived, but the number individuals here is currently estimated at over 500, and people are constantly streaming in.
Thus-far, traffic congestion is not a big problem.
The weather is unbelievably hot. With the high humidity, standing in the sun is nearly unbearable.
About 200 people were at Camp Qualls prior to my moving to Pirate Field. They had been there for a dedication ceremony, according to attendees.
The rally was initially planned for 1 p.m., but with a delay in the California caravan arriving it might be slightly delayed. Musical entertainment is being held on the stage.
Aw, bvw, it's no biggy. I know you support our troops and their mission, and that's what matters the most to me. We'll be cheering, side by side, as the rally and caravan represent all of us in Crawford today! :)
Blackfive is following this as well!
'Gibby' wasn't 'takin any crap from the race-pimp... and you could tell 'Sharpie was upset... his pomade began to curdle.
Exactly.
LOL---do you think it would have made the LE a little more nervous if they had read the thread yesterday when the freepers were asking questions about Texas' conceal/carry laws???
LOL - good for you.
I too, wish I could have been there, but I am on active Walter Reed duty every Friday night and decided our beloved heroes need support there as well. Thanks again.
Cool! I'd wear a yellow ribbon for John Wayne anyday. LOL I don't think I ever saw that movie, maybe TMC will play it one day.
Enough with self-centered folks who can't be bothered to display signs of support for the troops trying ease their guilty by making the rest of us feel guilty.
