I am so proud of my country for invading Iraq that I want to go fight, too. I can't wait to kill as many Iraqis as possible -- just as any good American would want to do. At the same time, I can help bolster the profits of that fine American company, Haliburton.

If I am really, really lucky, I will be killed there just as any American would be proud to do. The best scenario would be if my death could result in more Republicans bieng installed in government to invade other countries.

I consider myself the luckiest man on earth to have this opportunity.

At what point, one wonders, did you and your buddies completely lose the ability to understand the concepts of tyranny and liberty? National defense? Common sense? Saddam bribed the UN, attempted to assassinate Bush the elder, employed chemical weapons on his own people, violated the terms of the Kuwaiti War peace agreement daily, blocked UN weapons inspectors, fired missiles at Israel, murdered domestic political opponents, real or imagined, on a regular basis, and yes, funded Al Quaida and continually schemed and maneuvered to rebuild his WMD program. How could your beloved UN have done anything, given that most of the UN leadership was in his pocket?

Saying one is antiwar--all wars, all the time, everywhere, for any reason--is lazily taking the moral high ground, with no real conviction to support it. War is killing, and sometimes enemies need killing. Good thing for you some of us recognize and act upon that need. I for one don't mind blood on my hands if that blood was shed protecting that which matters. I'm a former airborne infantry NCO, so don't give me any of that 'chickenhawk' business, either. By the way, liberals aren't turning out many veterans, anymore. I think George McGovern was probably the last true war hero to come out of your ranks. I didn't like him or agree with him, but I listened to him. So if you want to talk national defense issues with the grownups, I suggest you take an oath and try on a uniform.
