Missing music producer found alive
Grammy-nominated Chris Julian discovered naked, washing clothes in creek

Updated: 3:07 a.m. ET Aug. 27, 2005
LOS ANGELES - The nearly weeklong search for a Grammy-nominated producer ended Friday after a resident spotted the man sitting naked in a backyard creek, washing his jeans.
The Topanga Canyon resident found a distraught Christian Julian Irwin saying he feared he was being pursued by Nigerians who had contacted him in an Internet scam, sheriffs Capt. Ray Peavy said.
/snip
Authorities began looking for Irwin on Sunday after he made a panicked phone call to a friend, saying he was being pursued by people with dogs. He told his friend he was running through water and had lost his glasses and shoes in a creek.
/snip
The most bizarre element in the case is Irwin's recent involvement in a Nigerian Internet scam. The swindle involves e-mailed appeals for advance money to help move large sums out of Nigeria. Victims are told theyll get a big chunk of the fortune in exchange for their help.
/snip
Irwin is an independent record producer and engineer whose work has brought three Grammy Nominations, over 50 Gold and Platinum albums and an Emmy Award. He has worked with David Bowie, Jimmy Webb, Vanessa Williams, David Crosby, Chaka Khan, Don Was, Art Garfunkel, Carly Simon, Queen Latifa, Isaac Hayes and Lisa Stansfield.

Shoot! I was going to sign up for one of those Nigerian deals so I could make big money too! But I don't want to be chased by people with dogs, so I guess I'll pass. All that money gone to waste. Maybe I'll become a music producer instead.

I can understand that. I had a relative who started developing paranoia, and much later it came out she was using pot on a regular basis. It was only discovered after she had to be hospitalized, and the doctors said the pot kids are smoking now days is 6 or 7 times stronger than what was used in the seventies, and is now the leading addictive drug for hospital admissions. My relative has had many attacks of paranoia for the last year, and gradually is getting better, but it has been a long road home.

Now I understand the Hollywood Left..Drug induced visions of Marxist paradise mixed with self hate and loathing of a country that would give them such wealth..topped off by neurotic FEAR of the great mass of American citizens who are..war mongers and shop owners unable to understand the deep insight LSD and mescal give the Entertainment elite.

Gotta find a new drug. Hewey Lewis and the News
I Want A New Drug
I want a new drug
One that won't make me sick
One that won't make me crash my car
Or make me feel three feet thick
I want a new drug
One that won't hurt my head
One that won't make my mouth too dry
Or make my eyes too red
One that won't make you nervous
Wondering what to do
One to help you run
when Nigerians are chasing you.

I have an idea for a "reverse" Nigerian money-moving scam. I pose as a rock promotor and I am going to do a benefit "Food-for-Africa" rock concert. All I need is some upfront money from the corrupt Nigerian government so that I can stage the concert and book some big-name has-beens like John Cougar Mellencamp, Bono/U2, Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nelson, Don Henley, and the rest of the self-important washed-up performers. I'll send millions back to the Nigerians and then we'll start the process all over again. All the time, I'll be skimming millions off the top for my "promoter fees." At the standard rate, of course.
Sounds like a good plan to me! The concerts are to be staged in the usual places...London, California, New York. We'll get MTV onboard and turn this thing into a real extravaganza. Then we'll put the concerts out on DVD and we'll sell some of the prime cuts to iTunes. Not to mention a real party backstage. Catered food and all the alcoholic beverages you can think of. A good time to be had by all. And it's all for a good cause - we are doing something for Africa. Yay!
