Colonel Anthony Shaffer (search) and Navy Captain Scott Philpott (search) have also gone on the record, saying they were discouraged from looking further into Atta, and their attempts to share their information with the FBI were thwarted because Atta was a legal foreign visitor at the time.

Even more immediate for concern, why didn't the 9-11 Commission even make a mention of the fact that our government had (and has again, now) the capability to identify these terrorists, their cells, their connections to one another?

Michael Chertoff was the head counsel for the Senate Whitewater Committee chaired by Alphonse D'Amato. He knows everything about the Clintons, including where the bodies are buried.

He should have gone easy on the egg in the face. Keep a fully appearing non-biased good old fashion patriot face, just want to get to the damn fact attitude. Just keep enough solution flowing into their vein to keep them off course, not sure what to try to do to actively take counter measures. As the pressure steam pressure builds in the boiler, assuming the coal furnaces is hot enough to continue building up pressure and steam temperatures to a super high level, the L/MSM will have to release the valves a bit to allow the wheels to start rolling or the damn boiler is going to eventually explode their body parts through lots of fans.
I think have a feeling Arlen is going to be on our side on this one. He apparently is starting to put things into place, as the article states, sequestering the FBI for info etc.. Main thing IMHO is for Curt not to appear snotty. He has to come over as just very seriously concerned over the many wrongs that where committed, and appeal to the L/MSM for fair treatment. The L/MSM knows when to open the steam valve, before it is to late. BlatherGate is one reason they now be a bit more cautiouse in how they operate.

Now isn't that an interesting observance. The world new hours after the attack of how Atta looked. And if I remember correctly, the L/MSM had no problem claiming with authority he was the ring leader.
remember the political environment the administration wanted to foster after 9/11, they felt they would need wide bi-partisan support to conduct the war on terror, and they needed the Dems on board. so they decided not to lay it all out at the feet of Clinton. this was a dumb move of course, anyone here could have told them that over time, the Dems would turn on them, and they did.
so would I be surprised that some person in the administration was briefed about able danger after 9-11, and did nothing with it? no, I would not be surprised.
The German intelligence service was aware of Atta and the Al Qaeda cell well in advance of 9/11. If they were aware, why wasn't the CIA/FBI/Customs aware?

Surely the CIA where informed. As they where with the 8 Ball deal concerning wmd's with Iraq. Of course in that case the Germans played games with the CIA and perhaps other agencies if I remember correctly only telling them shortly before Powell went before the UN with the final plea for addressing the series of final resolutions on Iraq, that 8 ball was nothing more then a total drunk wanting more money.
