Keanu Reeves was reported last night to be embroiled in a romance with Diane Keaton, the actress who is nearly 20 years his senior.
Reeves, 40, was said to have dumped actress girlfriend Lynn Collins, 28, to date the 59-yearold Oscar winner.
Reeves met Miss Keaton when they appeared together in the 2003 comedy Something's Gotta Give. He began dating Miss Collins three months ago after they met on the set of the forthcoming drama Il Mare.
A friend told the U.S. magazine Star that Reeves was 'hit hard' by turning 40 last year.
Breaking up with Miss Collins 'kind of said goodbye to a way of living he's outgrown'.
From the Bible to the popular song,
Theres one theme that we find right along.
Of all ideals they hail as good,
The most sublime is motherhood.
There was a man, oh, who it seems,
Once carried this ideal to extremes.
He loved his mother and she loved him,
And yet his story is rather grim.
There once lived a man named oedipus rex.
You may have heard about his odd complex.
His name appears in freuds index
cause he loved his mother.
His rivals used to say quite a bit,
That as a monarch he was most unfit.
But still in all they had to admit
That he loved his mother.
Yes he loved his mother like no other.
His daughter was his sister and his son was his brother.
One thing on which you can depend is,
He sure knew who a boys best friend is!
When he found what he had done,
He tore his eyes out one by one.
A tragic end to a loyal son
Who loved his mother.
So be sweet and kind to mother,
Now and then have a chat.
Buy her candy or some flowers or a brand new hat.
But maybe you had better let it go at that!
Or you may find yourself with a quite complex complex,
And you may end up like oedipus.
Id rather marry a duck-billed platypus,
Than end up like old oedipus rex.
"Where is K.R.'s mother in all of this?"
Exactly my question-- if I were the mother of one of these young men seduced by a much older woman, I would tell that HARPY to get her CLAWS out of my son.
But, with names like Keanu and Ashton, how much do you really expect out of those so-called moms?
4. Crimes of the Heart
LOVE that movie..
Well, at least with a beard that age he won't be expected to have children and he could avoid the "WHY NO CHILDREN?" questions in a marriage with her.
your all hat and no cattle.
;)
She'll be getting Social Security in a couple of years, and he'll need the income since he can't act.
And there's a reason for the double-standard. See my post #136. Call me old-fashioned, but courting should be about finding a marriage partner and making a family.
No, I'm the one that most often gets compared to cattle.
He's just another homosexual actor with a public string of women on his arm to cover up the reality of his perverted life.
So if a woman is older,
she's of no use? Of no value?
I mean, if an older man wants a younger wife, then what you're saying is that all of us old hags should just slit our wrists and let the young firm hotties rule the world.
I do have a little sheep dip.
No according to Hollywood, box office sales are down because of the noise in theaters--cell phones, talking, babies crying, and so on. They are loathe to put the blame on their own shoulders.
Good thinking there. What a plan.
No, No, No!
Keanu, you've got it all wrong... You're supposed to trade in a 40 for two 20s!
Mark
I seem to remember that Keanu had a long-time girlfriend, and that they were expecting a child. I believe she had a (very tragic and heartbreaking to both of them) late-term miscarriage. She died (in an accident, or of an illness - I don't remember) not long after that. Apparently that caused a quantum shift in his viewpoints, and he had pretty much shunned the usual Hollywood crowd.
LOL no I didnt get that memo. in fact I dont keep up with the hollywoodites whatsoever.I thought Reeves was gay because he acts like a sissy boy:) And I really liked him in all Matrix movies but he still acted kinda sissyish to me.
Older women are wonderfully useful-- I'm 46 myself, and just re-married this year to my long-time sweetie, who is 13 years my senior. After raising my daughters together for the last 14 years, we're looking forward to travelling and being alone together finally (sort of a perpetual honeymoon!) since I just deposited my youngest in her new college dorm room earlier this week.
And, someday (not soon!) I hope to have grand-children and to be able to help my daughters with them from time to time, and to be important in the childrens' lives.
I am lucky, I know, but my point is that older women can live wonderful, rich lives. My church is full of wonderful older women-- busy and helpful and giving women.
It's just that I firmly believe that a 40 year old man has no business with a 60 year old woman. She provides a mother figure, whereas he should be progressing to becoming a mature middle-aged man himself-- a husband and father. There's NOTHING attractive about a 40 year old boy. People are supposed to grow up. And, a 60 year old woman who is interested in that younger man hasn't grown up herself.
When I was younger, I would have said that it was all ok, whatever cranks their clocks, but since I've gotten older myself, I realize that people are SUPPOSED to pass through the progressive stages of life, occupying the right slot at the right age, helping others, and showing younger people how to lead a rich, useful, and good life.
A guy who can't act his way out of a paper bag.....now he's dating one?
