The Enemy Within - Media Traitors Seek US Defeat In Iraq
Pipeline News ^ | 24 August 2005

Posted on 08/26/2005 3:01:16 AM PDT by Lando Lincoln

First, let us clarify, we are using the term "enemy" in its fullest and most complete sense ["a person or group actively opposing or hostile to another, or to a cause" - Oxford English Dictionary], we mean enemy.

Since Vietnam and Watergate, the media has had a [rightly] heightened sense of self-importance.

That only stands to reason since they were responsible for losing the war in Vietnam and driving a president from office, if one is to judge by recent standards, absent just cause.

Greg Mitchell is the current editor of E&P Magazine, the bible of the publishing industry.

In his most recent piece, Mitchell has urged the nation's newspaper editors to action:

"At this critical moment, it's time for newspapers -- many of which helped get us into this war -- to use their editorial pages as platforms to help get us out of it. So far, few have done much more than wring their hands. Now, it's literally do-or-die time"

Such traitorous [traitor - a person who is treacherous or disloyal, especially to his county - Oxford English Dictionary] hectoring comes at a critical time for Iraq and for this nation. The old media - which Mr. Mitchell represents - have taken it upon themselves to become one with the Marxist/MoveOn.org crowd, using a grief stricken mother like a condom to further their goals.

Mr. Mitchell is clearly stating what we all have known for years about the press; they do not see themselves as mere journalists, but rather have inflated themselves to believe that they are America's rightful, deserving and hereditary potentates.

They feel this way because their sense of deserving is driven by a sanctimonious belief that they are the nation’s intellectual priesthood.

These people - the media - seek one thing - defeat of the United States.

They do not believe in American national sovereignty or the traditions upon which this society is based.

They believe in a Godless, multicultural, fractionated socialist hell - and actively augur to bring it about.

Mr. Mitchell's advice comes at a propitious time as Cindy Sheehan is apparently returning to Camp Fonda, itself ringed with the slavish dregs of the journalist universe.

Over the next few weeks this nation will be festooned with the ephemera of the "BushisHitler" crowd, and of course it will be gleefully mirrored by the media of America's external enemy, al-Jazeera et al.

Since Mr. Mitchell has so unambiguously shown the media's strategy we on the right should take heed.

Either fight or watch this nation die.

Mr. Bush, take off the gloves.

I agree that Bush has got to fight this thing before it snowballs and gains legitimacy on the streets and around the water coolers.

I suspect the left learned more from Vietnam than we did - they have, after all being crowing about it for the last 30+ years. We have to be more active on the homefront, but it must come from the top as well as grass roots. The White House does not see itself as somehow 'above the fray' in the international front of the war on terror, and it shouldn't do so at home. This week's speech to veterans was an excellent start, but Bush cannot now retreat to his corner nd expect his words to reverberate for any more than one news cycle. He must lead from the front, make it plain that when the left attack him they are attacking America and our troops. The MSM scents blood, but a concerted effort by true Americans at all levels of society should send the clear message that it is they who are wounded and flailing.

grief stricken mother....

This whole grief stricken mother thing is getting old. From what I've seen of this woman, she is a mean spirited, dishonest, self-absorbed, attention whore.

Everyone seems to want to go out of their way to say how they respect this idiot's right to object to the war, but her actions and words, indicate nothing but a deep seeded hatred for America and everything it stands for.

I'm happy to say that I have no respect for this woman or her cause one little bit and I wish the media would stop providing her with a vehicle to spew her twisted view of a war that has been long since over.

President Bush has a habit of laying low during August, giving the Left the impression that they're scoring big points.

So far, he has always come back after Labor Day and cut the legs out from under them.

I believe he'll do the same this year. We'll see what we shall see...

It's long past time for us to take our country back from the "punditocracy". (There's no "their side"/"our side" to this -- it's a bad thing whether we agree with 'em or not.)

It's all well-and-good for us to sit on our sideline perches and "advise" that our "leaders do something about it" -- Our "leaders", sad to say, have been co-opted and are now part of the problem.

We need to carry the concept of FR to its logical conclusion, and declare open, guerilla war on all of the distorters, carpers, nay-sayers, and nit-pickers - refuting and ridiculing them at every turn.

Yes, but this year he's dug a bigger hole for himself, the media is gleefully trying every trick in the book to destroy him, and he is a prisoner of events in Iraq. I had wished that after the 14 Marines were killed last month, he had used the occasion to speak to the US people about the sacrifice, the importance of what they were doing, the strategy. Instead, he let his enemies define the agenda, he went off to Crawford and here we are - a fine mess.

Absolutely. It's the old rope-a-dope. Bush always waits and the Left ALWAYS overplays their hand because they think the American people are stupid. Then Bush comes back and as you say, "cuts the legs out from under them". Of course he may not have to do much this time because the Crawford protest and the Walter Reed "vigil" have pretty much been exposed for what they are. Even the 3 day distraction of Pat Robertson didn't help the left much. Cindy's same old, same old lame questions will AGAIN be answered which will give Bush the platform to AGAIN reaffirm the purpose for Iraq. And the press will keep covering the Left's over the top outrageous statements which can only help those who support the work that is being done. Can we get a Dean Scream here? They are as good as gold.

"'above the fray' in the international front of the war on terror, and it shouldn't do so at home"

You hit it.....Karen Hughes was confirmed by the Senate to fill a new position where she is to coordinate efforts to "win the hearts & minds of the Arab world" .....while there is little effort to keep up spirits at home.

It is not enough to have only President GWB & a few select members of the administration speak out. Why tiptoe around terrified we'll be accused of using propaganda, jingoism, marketing & sales to reinforce US policy in the WOT? We are in a world where news is on cable 24/7 and, instead of stories of heroic liberators & the grateful people they saved, instead of knowing the names of these defenders of freedom, the majority of NAMES in the news are those of missing persons, celebrities in a crisis and scandals. My suspicion is that these returning heroes and the families of the fallen would be willing to help.....they did in WWII with War Bond rallies, patriotic movies and ads and we need it again.

The progressive left doesn't hesitate to use propaganda, etc. to further their anti American goals, why should we?

"Mr. Bush, take off the gloves."

What about the rest of us?

If patriotic Americans all over the country were, to use Napoleon's memorable line, to give the legacy press "a whiff of the grape," this problem would be solved in a matter of minutes.

Please read my posts carefully before you disregard. I am a strong supporter of President Bush and the Iraq War and the War on Terror. I know this will be won by facts on the ground. That does not alter the fact the public relations efforts and the efforts to frame this discussion on the part of the White House have been horrible. I have eagerly awaited every major Bush speech the last two years only to be disappointed. What Bush probably needs to do now is wait for an on the ground victory, be it political or military, and give a major speech from the White House and use it to frame the discussion. He connected so well with the American people after 9/11, he needs to connect again and explain this struggle.

His enemies on the left and in the media are gleeful right now, we can hope they overplay their hand, next up, new photos from abu Ghrabib, unless of course the Pentagon plays hard ball and refused to cooperate with a leftist judge.

How would you propose to do that? I call, send emails, endlessly. It makes no difference. They still support the hate america crowd -- indeed they are the hate america crowd.

A military recruit is sworn in under oath to protect the country from "enemies, foreign and domestic".

Is there such a thing as a domestic enemy?
Money to the terrorists in Iraq via code pink:
does that count?

Siding with the enemy:
does that count?

Banners that demean & demoralize soldiers in their face in front of the hospital where they are recovering:
could that qualify?

What about stealing & stuffing secret papers into your socks & pants:
sounds like a domestic enemy to me.

Rush, Sean, Brit, even Savage, need to publicize these shameful remarks by Mitchell, in which he calls on the media to turn against their country in this war. How blatantly treasonous do the liberals get to be before they are called enemy sympathizers? This should be a struggle to the death between the socialist msm and the free media, and all patriots need to man the phone lines, FAXes and keyboards NOW! This absolutely must NOT be another Viet Nam, where many thousands of our troops were killed because of the enemies in the US press.

No, but I hear the Rev. Al is on the way to Crawford along with the National Front.

Get out the popcorn, this sounds like fun!

Stretch: The Old Geezer here:

I'm with you buddy! PATRIOTISM IS THE WORD! Bush needs to push it. Bush needs to call a terrorist what he is: bUSH needs to call the religion of Islam the evil that it is: Bush needs to REDEFINE THE WORD "FREE SPEECH" REDEFINE THE WORD "TREASON" REDEFINE THE WORD HATE AND APPLY IT TO THE VILE HATE SPEECH AGAINST AMERICA!
He further needs to speak out against the Clinton administration's support for terrorists; his lame excuses for not "taking out" of Bin Laden. His love for the destruction of this country and his love for the socialist
movement around the world.....
YES, Bush needs to speak out... Start war bonds as in WW2; Promote love for the military. AND ABOVE ALL, SPEAK OUT AGAINST THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA

The blood they smell is President Bush's bleeding Achilles Heel. While he speaks with strength about the WOT, he is not attending to the gushing wound that is illegal immigration.
