Are we seeing gay agendas advancing in Hong Kong? This is a place where if you put China aside, is a bit like a New York full of people with small town Texas moral values.

Well I could crack a really good raunchy joke about Communists and gay habits...but I will leave it to your imagination. :-)

Hartmann said existing laws were ``demeaning of gay men,'' stereotype them as ``deviant,'' and interfere with their private lives on the assumption that homosexuality was ``morally reprehensible.''

So the courts make a judgment on this behavior based upon what?

Interesting enough, there is an editorial on a Chinese-language newspaper published by the same group that produced this news story. It says "A civilized society must guarantee the interests of minosity and avoid tyranny of a majority, but it should also guarantee religious freedom...provided a protection clause to the persecuted could potentially morph into a weapon in which the persecuted use to attack others. In that case we will have 'tyranny of a minority'. In the legislating process the government [of Hong Kong] need not move in haste to win approvals from the West. Different societies each have their own unique social conditions and environments, and the government should legislate accordingly considering the local conditions and balance interests of different sections of society to ensure that tolerance in Hong Kong society will not be damaged."

In other words, what this dribbler wants to imply is that: "we are pro-family here in Hong Kong, but since the West is a different society so I think their pro-life movements should not be supported. The West has a different culture and I think gay rights should triumph there!"

Pathetic, on the part of HK newspapers.

Very very inter-vesting Doctor NZer

That sounds just like the brainsick reasoning of the left.

Should private consensual sexual behavior be criminalized? Sodomy is not exclusive to homosexuals. Clinton and Monica engaged in sodomy.
