A MELBOURNE man shot dead his ex-lover in revenge for her aborting their child on his birthday, then telling him about her action via a text message, a court heard today.
Pisey Prasoeur, 23, of Chadstone, faced the Victorian Supreme Court today after pleading not guilty to a charge of murdering Aneta Pochopien, 32, on April 14 last year.
Ms Pochopien's husband, Peter, discovered his wife slumped in her car at their home in Chadstone after she had finished a nightshift at the nearby Silcraft car component factory.
She had been shot in the head and chest.
Mr Prasoeur and Ms Pochopien were co-workers at the factory, and had an affair from May to October 2003, often having sex after work in hotel rooms and parks, Crown prosecutor Doug Trapnell said in his opening address to a jury of eight men and four women.
"(Mr Prasoeur) felt (Ms Pochopien) was the only person who understood him," Mr Trapnell said.
After becoming pregnant to the accused, Ms Pochopien told her husband, who went with her when she terminated the pregnancy, he said.
Mr Prasoeur became depressed after Ms Pochopien sent him a text message telling him she was aborting their child.
She ended the relationship three weeks later, and told Mr Prasoeur she wanted to fall pregnant to her husband, with whom she already had a son.
"He (Prasoeur) killed the deceased in cold blood as revenge for the abortion of his child and the treatment he suffered from the breakdown of their relationship," Mr Trapnell said.
Mr Prasoeur had a will drafted nine days before Ms Pochopien's death, he said.
A police search of Mr Prasoeur's room at his parents' house uncovered a "to do list" before attempting suicide, including making a will, visiting a brothel and saying goodbyes.
Police also seized Mr Prasoeur's laptop computer from his home and discovered he researched topics such as crime scenes and murder on the internet, and had entered the search term "the diary of a hitman".
Doctor Kerry O'Meara told the court via videolink that she had treated Prasoeur at Box Hill Hospital emergency department two days after Ms Pochopien's death, following his suicide attempt the previous night.
"He said he had taken a blunt Stanley knife and cut the inside of his left elbow and left wrist," she said.
Defence counsel John Dickinson told the jury that Ms Pochopien and his client had been working at the factory on the morning of her death.
Ms Pochopien left at 4.30am and was seen to drive away in her car, but Mr Prasouer did not leave until some hours later, Mr Dickinson said.
"She lived six minutes (drive) from the factory, the shooting is an hour after she leaves the factory," he said.
"It raises issues.
"Where did she go to? Who did she go with? What did she do and with whom?"
There was no evidence to suggest Mr Prasoeur had left the factory and then returned, Mr Dickinson said.
Mr Pochopien told police that he had heard two gunshots then saw someone leaving his driveway in what he thought was a Mitsubishi Magna, he said.
Evidence would indicate his client was driving a Ford that day, Mr Dickinson said.
The trial before Justice Kevin Bell continues tomorrow
I think he was just angry at being named "Pisey."
I know I wouldn't go as far as killing her, but she would get dumped on the spot no if's ands or buts about it.
I tell you, I had a similar thing happen to a friend of mine. The B**ch had promised my friend and his mother and he could have and raise the baby. She aborted the baby at 3 mos but let him believe that she was still pregnant until (what would have been) the 6th month. He cried his eyes out. It's an evil deception, abortion.
Wonder how that text message might've read:
"Going 2 abort ur child. O noes! :) l8r"
I assume his defense will be that his actions were nothing more than an extremely late-term abortion.
It's always a good idea to stay faithful to your spouse.
Which, of course, they were.
LMAO.
Your tagline is dead on too.
LOL!
>Take a life because you're upset about a life being taken?
>That doesn't add up.
It's not life he cares about. Ultimately, rejecting his child is rejecting him and everything he is.
The ultimate evil act.
So, he was engaging in "a lover's right to choose", huh?
Kill my child I will kil you back. Eye for an eye I 'spose. It doesn't make what he did right though.
And how did de shoot her? I thought gund were banned in Australia making it a liberal utopia? LOL
Gotta love irony.
"Going 2 abort ur child. O noes! :) l8r"
Ya know, there's a lot of stuff to work with in this story, but after a post like that, why bother? I'm not gonna top that. No sir.
