And Robertson, being a Preacher, should not be calling for people's deaths, nor lying afterwards about what he meant. Now, now, just settle down and try one of my health shakes!

Jesus is going to crush and destroy a whole lot of people when he returns with his vesture dipped in blood.
So I guess to answer your loaded question...a whole lot of people.
And a question for you. Should a soldier, who happens to be a Christian, kill other unaware men by using a long range sniper rifle? (while in the military and under orders to do so)

How long do think it will be before some Nut-hatch in BowelMoveOn.org sees Pat Robertson's comments and thinks "Maybe there's another world leader who God would like to see Taken Out to the ballgame?"

Hitler and his henchmen planned to kill the Czech Jews anyway, and indeed all the Jews of Europe. The assassination of Heydrich may have sped up the process, and that was a sad event. As for assassination, the world would have been far better off, and many thousands of Jews spared the gas chambers, had the German generals succeeded in assassinating Hitler and toppling the Nazi regime in 1944. Reportedly, Pope Pius XII was aware of supported the coup attempt, as did the Protestant theologian and martyr Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

" Better covert action in 2005 than a ground war involving American troops in 2015."
Amen.

If that person is a lawful enemy in a declared conflict and the soldier is under direct orders to engage the hostile force, that's why Ft Benning has a sniper school.

Robertson was a stupid jerk for saying this in public. And he was right.

And had we taken that approach to Russia during The Cuban Missile Crisis, we may have all three been born with extra toes and a second head.

I still haven't heard any of you Chavez apologists explain why it would have been a bad thing to take out Hitler before he brought the world to war.
To: .cnI redruM
the history of what happened to the Chech Jewish population AFTER they succeeded in assassinating Ostengrupenfurher Heydritch...
the retribution let loose for that assassination was monumental and profoundly tragic.WOW, good thing they did not assassinate Hitler then or some really bad things might have happened to the Jews.......er, uh, then again, maybe some really bad things did happen....maybe you accidently make a good point, they should have assassinated Hitler also, an not just Heydritch.
To: Jim_Curtis
And I still haven't heard The Holy Flock of Rev. Pat explain why members of MoveOn.org shouldn't feel just as empowered by Pat's remarks to take leaders that they don't personally approve of before those leaders start wars.

A jury has the power but not the right to declare someone not guilty (for whatever reason it wants or for no reason at all) whom it actually believes is guilty.
Jury nullification may be the right thing to do if a guilty verdict would be an injustice. The Bible says if we are to judge, we are to do it with righteous judgment. If a jury has been given the power to do the right thing, then they should do it.

If you are arguing that not every contemplated assassination is judicious, no one will dispute that trivial point.
A timely assassination can save many lives, however.
Many more US soldiers would have come home from Europe in 1945 if von Stauffenberg had successfully terminated Hitler.
Robertson is a known idiot and, whether Chavez deserves assassination or not, Robertson should never have shot his mouth off like that.
He accomplished nothing of any value, created even more strain in our relationship with Venezuela, and handed the left and their Muslim buddies a convenient stick wherewith to beat Christians, conservatives and Republicans.
Robertson is an incompetent embarassment.

They tried for Hitler 5 times.
John F. Kennedy also tried for Castro. That failed attempt has helped encourage a great deal of what is wrong in Central America. I still haven't heard a reason why a radical leftist wouldn't consider Pat's message a mandate to shoot our current President yet?

David had faith in God, yet he made war on the enemies of Israel, as did Joshua. Scripture does not equate the actions taken by nations in their defense with private citizens rebelling against their rulers.
Pat Robertson, a private American citizen, was not talking about private action against Chavez, but covert measures by the United States government against Venezuela, which has a hostile government. Mainstream Christian theology has discussed at length the theory of just war, and circumstances exist where nations are justified in using violence in their own defense.
Surely, it is unreasonable to say that President Kennedy was unjustified in authorizing the assassination of Fidel Castro. Both our nation and Cuba would have been better off had those attempts succeeded.
To: wideawake
I'm arguing we should never open that can of worms. When we get in the business of politically convenient wet work, there is a lessoning of difference between our government and an organized crime racket.

Its really amazing it took this to let most of the sheeple in this country to even realize this guy existed. Maybe the MSM will focus on why it might be America's best interests this guy (Plus his buddy pictured)is gone. Am I putting to faith in the MSM for that?

lawful enemy in a declared conflict ...The military officers who give orders to the sniper are the ones who decide if the target is considered a lawful enemy or not. The sniper is just that, a sniper, he is not necessarily going to have the time or the skills to do the political and legal research on the target to make the 'legal' determination.
He is going to follow orders, even if it was Chavez three days ago. On the other hand he should balk at mowing down an 8 year old girl who is obviously not going to be a legit target.
To: BipolarBob
I understand what you are saying, but I do not think that it is furthering justice to disregard your oath as a juror and do something that you are not charged to do. A jury should (meaning, what it has the right to do) determine the facts and apply the law to determine guilt. Otherwise, we get OJ verdicts.
