Robertson Apologizes

(CNN) -- Conservative religious broadcaster Pat Robertson apologized Wednesday for calling for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez during Monday's broadcast of his "700 Club" program.

"Is it right to call for assassination? No, and I apologize for that statement," he said in a written statement.

Robertson should know better. How long has he been broadcasting? 30 years or more? CBN is a sophisticated business, it is beyond me how inept he's been with the message recently.

It seems like it's been a long time since Pat Robertson was relevant.

For me, the defining moment was around 8 or 10 years ago when his CBN endorsed Benny Hinn.
