State legislators said yesterday that Virginia is facing an immigration crisis on par with Arizona and New Mexico and urged Gov. Mark Warner to declare an emergency like the governors of those two states did last week.
"If New Mexico and Arizona qualify, certainly Northern Virginia would," the Fairfax County Republican said.
"The amount of money that we are spending on illegal aliens is monstrous. Any way that we can get the federal government to help us fix the problem they've created I'm sure would go over 100 percent with 100 percent approval from the caucus."

You obviously get it. Well stated.
Maybe he/she meant it should PING MARK WARNER. As in, listen up, lookee here, read this.
I don't know how you blame that on the federal government. That's your own fault. Just don't spend it. Maybe some of the illegals will take the hint and go home.
I actually like (dis-like) John W about as much as Mark W these days.
Taxes, you know.
Because in 2005, there is no difference. They all want to pillage, and rape! They don't even say "thanks"...
can't we take M Warner's teeth through the power of eminent domain?? What could we build there that would enhance our community??
When I moved to VA in '97, out of state tuition at NVCC was $60 a credit, now it's $220 a credit, while in-state is $72 a credit.
He ruined the budgets for the community colleges, slashing programs. NVCC used to be the most prestigious CC in the country.
Warner promised vocational education. Where is it?
Wrong end of the horse!
Thanks. So, what are the indusries in Virginia that have caused all those illegal aliens to be there?
Construction? Tourism (hotels/housekeeping)? Food service? Agriculture (what agriculture exists in Virginia -- just asking)? Domestic help, landscaping?
Then take measures about employers of illegal aliens, among other things.
Not addressing the in-state conditions (in each/all states) is only going to allow the federal 'emergency' dollars to be spent on more cars for county workers and things like that.

Glad to oblige.
BTW: George W. Bush's name is all over this . .
vocational ed - it's all ESOL classes now I suppose. By the way, my wife takes them at NVCC, however I paid $30,000 to bring her and her daughter to here from Russia legally and married her and I pay for everything. No welfare for me. I won't take a dime from anyone for my decisions. So, 2 times a week I drive her to class through about 200 day laborers hanging at the 7-11. Wonderful, huh??
And if you go to an INOVA Hospital emergency room you'll probably be the only native-born American there.
1) Proximity to DC
2) Virginia is an agricultural state. Vegetables and other crops on the Eastern Shore, tobacco (gasp), poultry and apples in the Shenandoah Valley. Peanuts and pigs in tidewater...and more. A lot of those operations require seasonal workers.
This is the HILARY strategy. These three states went W. If the Democrats can get out in front of this issue, and own it, she's in. Our only hope is, they will probably try to have it both ways: Against immigration...but FOR the "honest illegal who just wants to make his life better."
This has Bill's/Hilary's/Ickes's hands all over it.
Those numbers are pretty depressing. Especially on the domestic spending...sheesh!
In NOVA the employment of illegals is more likely to be in landscaping, home improvement, and restaurants.
Right, that's what I meant by the proxmity to DC (I wasn't clear).
When I lived up there, joke was you could go to the back of any restaurant and yell "immigration" and watch the people scatter.
