GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Two Wal-Mart employees were shot to death Tuesday in the parking lot of one of the retail stores in suburban Phoenix.
The shootings occurred in the middle of the parking lot, at least 50 yards from the store entrance. A body could be seen in one of the corrals used for collecting shopping carts.
Police spokesman Mike Pena said authorities were searching for the gunman. He said there were several witnesses to the shootings but would not identify them.
Delia Garcia, a Wal-Mart spokeswoman on the scene, said she did not know whether the victims were working at the time of the shooting. She said the store would be closed indefinitely.
"This is an extremely tragic situation. It has been confirmed that we have lost two of our associates," company spokeswoman Sharon Weber said from Wal-Mart headquarters in Bentonville, Ark.
Some of the store's 450 employees could be seen leaving the business Tuesday evening. The company was working to get help for other employees upset by the shootings, Garcia said.
Police cordoned off much of the parking lot, telling anyone whose car was within a perimeter that they would have to leave their vehicles there.
Authorities initially said a third victim had been wounded, but Pena later said that was not the case.
Glendale is about eight miles northwest of downtown Phoenix.

You have to live in the right county in CA to get a CCW. The northern counties, northeast actually, usually let you have one. I live in Amador, but Calaveras, Eldorado and a few other s will give them out but of course, thanks to our idiotic AG, you have to be a resident of that paticular county even though the permit is a state wide permit.
Naw, I live in the middle of nowhere. The nearest supercenter is around 25 miles away but I usually go to another one which is 35 miles in the other direction as it is also close to where my Father is in a nursing home and I can make two visits in one trip.
Isn't that the truth? We have become so permissiveness since the 60's it's not wonder these kinds of things happen all the time. When there are no rules there is chaos.

i, too, thought of union people first as the culprits in this one. No mention of such in the article tho, eh? Well let's see if this story is followed up on. If it's not union people, the MSM should love this "hate Walmart" story. If it is union related the MSM will kill this story.
Thanks.......over by Arrowhead.......
As of the 5:30 news there was an arrest made.
We had a murder at one of our local Wal-Marts. The Spurned Lover ambushed, shot and killed the woman who worked there as she was on her way in to work. Same thing happened in the 80's at a local mall. Exact same M.O.
It's not Wal-Mart's faoult. Remember when it was all the rage to shoot up a McDonalds? Criminals are so PC and trendy these days. *Rolleyes*
Hey, Sweets! Ya missed one! :)
(08-23) 18:22 PDT Glendale, Ariz. (AP) --
Two Wal-Mart employees were shot to death Tuesday as they gathered shopping carts in the parking lot of one of the retail stores in suburban Phoenix, and police later arrested the suspected gunman.
The shootings occurred in the middle of the parking lot, about 75 yards from the store entrance. At one point, a body could be seen in one of the corrals used for collecting shopping carts.
Hours later, police spokesman Mike Pena said a suspect had been arrested without incident in a retirement community in nearby Peoria.
Investigators initially sent a robot to the man's door to make contact, fearing that he could still be armed. The man came out with his hands up, Pena said.
The suspect, described as being in his 50s or 60s, still needed to put through a lineup and questioned by detectives. His name was not released Tuesday evening.
There was no immediate word on what might have motivated the attacks.
"We don't know how this happened or what led up to it," Pena said. He would not say whether the man knew the victims, who were also men.
That sounds like meth.

Doh! We pinged over each other. LOL!
Wally-haters in action??
Anyone know what the suspected motive was?
I am no Wally hater, but the more people buy from Walmart, the more the price of fuel goes up, as the Chinese demand for fuel rises so they can produce goods for walmart.
I quit shopping there myself.
