I bet O'Reilly will be seething tonight.
The difference is Churchill works for the goverment where it's much harder to fire.
They do not need to investigate his heritage because it has already been debunked by the tribe he was supposed to be a memeber of. Churchill is not being given a pass here.
Well isn't that nice?
Simply support Conservative colleges and universities and reject those that are not.
Heat's off. He's a member of a tribe, all right - the "tenured faculty" tribe, and they protect their own no matter what.
It is Boulder, after all. That place is run by a bunch of commies.
The probe is not being dropped. Of the nine charges against him only two were dropped. The probe is continuing with the other seven.
If I'm not mistaken only this one part of the probe is being dropped. The other parts are continuing.
Misleading. They are dropping ONE charge and pursuing the rest.
If they admit Churchill's not wearing any clothes, he might come back and say they're not either. Too many emperors, (on campus) not enough Indians.
I'm disgusted but not surprised. The Boulder campus is so overwhelmingly liberal, in such an overwhelmingly liberal town, that I'm sure their only concern has been how to ride out the scandal until they could quiety drop it.
ward ping
My guess is their lawyers convinced them Churchill would've bled 'em for gazillions in legal fees fighting a termination all the way to the World Court.
(Oops, did I say World Court? I meant Supreme Court. Maybe.)
The 'University' of colorado should be required to drop the use of 'University'.
Is anyone surprised?
Even though it can be proved, he probably can't be fired.
too PC.
(but don't DARE use an indian name for a sports team)
This is the first of many coats of whitewash that CU will be applying to the Churchill case.
I think I will declare myself as being Inuit and apply for some minority jobs.
It is amazing how many FReepers can read a headline that begins "Ward Churchill says" and believe what follows.
The investigation has not ended:

I guess the University of Colorado thinks the issue has died down enough for them to slink off into the night. Don't send your kids to this school. Send them a message instead.
