It's still around somewhere (Web site coming soon!).

The good ole days.....LIFE BEFORE RAP : )
Do you remember hearing Queen for the 1st time? Bohemian Rapsody? I must have been 8 years old. Now I am 38
Ok I just went and looked and that song was released Halloween night 1975 making me 8 and a half years old..WOW...I actually was right about my age when I first heard that before I looked.
Incidentally,
"Bismillah" is the opening word in the Qu'ran (Koran) and literally means "In the name of Allah."
"Scaramouch" according to the dictionary means "a stock character who appears as a boastful coward."
"Beelzebub" is one of the many names given to "The Devil."
they probably did have rocker kilts - oy my poor heritage ;)
Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come, easy go
A little high, little low
Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me, to me
Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead
Mama, life had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooo
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters
Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Body's aching all the time
Goodbye everybody - I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, ooo - (anyway the wind blows)
I don't want to die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all
I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango
Thunderbolt and lightning - very very frightening me
Gallileo, Gallileo,
Gallileo, Gallileo,
Gallileo Figaro - magnifico
But I'm just a poor boy and nobody loves me
He's just a poor boy from a poor family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity
Easy come easy go - will you let me go
Bismillah! No - we will not let you go - let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go - let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go - let me go
Will not let you go - let me go (never)
Never let you go - let me go
Never let me go - ooo
No, no, no, no, no, no, no -
Oh mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me
for me
for me
So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye
So you think you can love me and leave me to die
Oh baby - can't do this to me baby
Just gotta get out - just gotta get right outta here
Ooh yeah, ooh yeah
Nothing really matters
Anyone can see
Nothing really matters - nothing really matters to me
Anyway the wind blows...
"Beezlebubba" is the name given to "The Devil" when he appears in the guise of William Jefferson Clinton...
I thought that was leather:
The Bay City Bombers are back!
"Fat hot and sweaty -- and that's just Meatloaf's music."
Ah, Bohemian Rhapsody.
I'm two years older than you, but yes, I loved Queen... at the time. :-) But I didn't know the meanings of Bismillah or Scaramouch. Interesting...
Well, later, after my brief Bay City Rollers phase, my favorite bands were (of course) Led Zeppelin, Yes, and Pink Floyd. And Aerosmith (when they were young).
But, when I wasn't listening to that music with my fellow "heads", I was at the rink with my other friends skating to "Funky Town" and "Double Dutch Bus". ;-)
They were VERY big in the UK for about two years. They were hailed as "the new Beatles."
Did we grow up in the same town??LOL
Levittown NY : )))
BY the way Scaramouch is the name of John Kerry's yacht..I kid you not.
SHEESH I just had a poet and didnt know it moment..LOL
Roller skating
ALWAYS AND FOREVER lol
I love all the bands you listed also. My hub is a hack and plays most of those bands songs all the time.
Sorry to go off on that tangent. The Bay City Who? ;-)
Which HOT SKATES?
I used to go to the rink in Levittown by the Wantagh parkway. They must have closed it down about 20 years ago.
Every Labor Day we would do the Jerry Lewis Skate-a-thon and one year I was the person who got the highest donations and won a brand new moped. It was so cool. I must have been around 10 years old.
As a matter of fact, I think I still have the Lover Boy album! (Back "home" in Mom's closet with the others, of course).
I grew up in PA, near Philly.
Oh, the memories. Too funny. I haven't thought of those times in years... lol.
I was referring to the one in Lynbrook. I didn't think they had another location. There was also Roller Castle in HElmont but my mom wouldn't let me go there because the "bad people" hung out there.
