LONDON - Former Bay City Roller lead singer Les McKeown is due to appear in court on Tuesday charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine, police said on Monday.
McKeown, 49, who was arrested on June 1, was remanded on bail and will appear at Harlow Magistrates Court in Essex, south east England.
The tartan-clad Bay City Rollers hailed from Edinburgh and were one of the biggest pop bands of the 1970s, with hits including "Shang-A-Lang" and "Bye Bye Baby."

And it wasn't even an S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y night.
I think that's overstating it a bit. They had a couple of moderate hits and were in the limelight for about a year before they faded away never to be heard from until now.
An aging pop star from the 70's using drugs??? Wonders never cease.
I always preferred the Bay City Bombers. I hate the T-Birds with all my heart!!! ;-)
It makes me nostalgic for the skating rink
"The jammers are out!"
Man, when will Roller Derby come back? I think it could be big again!
LOL!!
Me too. This was the first album I ever owned. Oh and Sean Cassidy....I remember being a tween and my grandpa took me to his concert at MSG. What a guy : ))) Thanks gramps..: )))
It's sad that the skating rinks are all gone.
It was such a right of passage.
See what happens when you don't follow Mum's advice, don't wear your shirt ...
And Tiger Beat magazine. : )
Couples skate, ladies choice. My personal fav.
Fashion victims all (including the drum kit). I know the clothes were a gimmick, but did they have to be so ugly? At least they didn't wear "rock star" kilts.
LOL!!
The Bay City Rollers were my first, too! (Album, that is). The album is still back "home" in Mom's closet, right along with Shaun Cassidy and the Osmonds. ;-)
Tartan is a gateway fabric!!
Soon to receive a Rock n' Roll Love Letter from his cellmate...
