Rumsfeld is having a press conference. Under the Fox News Alert the big banner read:
Rumsfeld says that Able Danger briefed the 9/11 Commission.
Did anyone hear his remarks on this matter; all I've seen is the banner.

which I think is a topic of paramount importance. Please see my post #64 which is a paste of Bryan Preston's comments from Michelle malkin's blog.
Chilling
Is anybody as p*ssed off as I am right now? It seems, to me anyway, that the clinton administration had a PLAN to deal with the threat they knew could turn into a promise at any moment. And what was their PLAN? Certainly not pre-emptive action. Their PLAN seemed to be to declare Martial Law. Bottom line. Control us. Then deal with the terrorists with whatever next plam they could pull from their a**es. Why else would he have gone to the trouble of naming Reno Secretary of Defense for Domestic Matters?
Michael Medved on his radio show said the spokesman for the Commission called him and clarified that the Commission knew about Able Danger, but not Atta, and had never claimed otherwise, and Medved apologized for his error, and calling the Commission liars, he having said what you just said.
FWIW Hugh Hewitt is finally going to yalk about AD. I've e-mailed him 4 times already and he said he doesn't believe it, just doesn't believe it. Sort of what I thought. He read one of my cranky e-mails. LOL
I may not be following your post exactly. But do you remember the first day or two of this story? The Commission first denied ever hearing about Able Danger.
They've told so many stories, it's obvious they are in cover-up mode.
There were even quotes from them, denying hearing anything about AD. Then they changed it to something else, then something else and finally have settled on that they knew about Able Danger but were never presented with info on Atta.
Why does this country freak about communism?
It only means sharing with the greater community. I believe that sharing is a Christian value. I don't understand the knee jerk reaction.
August 10, 2005 9/11 Commission Acknowledges Briefing On Able Danger Tomorrow's New York Times reports that members of the 9/11 Commission reversed themselves and now acknowledge being briefed on the Army's data mining project, Able Danger, prior to the publication of their report to the American people. After over 24 hours of denying that anyone had told the Commission about the secret project, their spokesman now says that commission officials met with a uniformed officer who told them about the identification of Mohammed Atta and three other 9/11 hijackers in 2000, over a year prior to the attacks:
I am just repeating what Michael Medved said. I am a mere conduit.

Thank you for finding that. I think that the Commission is now trying to pretend that they never lied. I know we Americans can have short memories, but they aren't that short :-)
So why was Slade Gorton still in denial mode on TOF?
Isn't the current Army Chief of Staff the general who authorized Able Danger in the first place? Or am I mistaken on this?
Thanks in advance.
JEDI.
Isn't this interesting!
I don't know the motives of Gorton, but this story is beginning to find some daylight.
LOL.
I just wasn't sure if you remembered the early days of this story and how the Commission had changed their story. #328 reflects what I think is their first story change. I don't know what number they are up to now :-)
I was listening to HH when he started talking about Able Danger. I knew it had to be a freeper who emailed him about it.
Good work, varmintxer. I suspect HH will be changing his tune shortly.
Well isn't that "special?"
somebody, somehwere, somehow, has to come up with a copy of that chart.
