Interesting that Rice, even as a "fantasy candidata" gets more votes than anyone else.

Are people dumb enough to vote for Guiliani? God help us! Hillary is going to win this one, easy. The right has NO candidate to offer. Then again, I think it's being staged that way on purpose. The deal was written long ago.

Giussolini is a Rockefeller Republican who is being foisted on us by the media and the country clubbers.

Right. He is. But he might be a better choice than the wing-nuts that some Freepers tie themselves to. Remember all the support for a Alan Keyes. He finally got his shot in Illinois and not only lost spectacularly but made an absolute ass of himself by calling for Blacks to pay no income tax. Now there is a solid conservative position for you. Guilliani fixed a lot of problems in NYC. That's a pretty damn big accomplishment. What has Bush fixed?

Giuliani was good on "law and order" issue. Other than that he failed to significantly slash taxes, supports gay rights, tightened NY's already onerous gun control laws, and NY remains a liberal hellhole.

There are plenty of mainstream conservative candidates such as George Allen or Tim Pawlenty. Hell, I'd take McCain after the cross-dressing RINO Rockefeller-esque Ruina Giusolini.

The problem is there are alot of people in the blogosphere who think Guliani/Mccain are the only candidates who can win and are obsessed with star power. They hate mccain so they gravitate toward Guliani and ignore his social views. What these people forget is Guliani's personal life which reads like an adult novel isnt going to fly well in the south or among religious conservatives. I woudl never vote for somone like Guiliani or Gingrich because i have zero respect for any one that cheats on his wife. They are scum as far as im concerned and not worthy of my respect.

The right has NO candidate to offer.

Allen, Brownback, Pawlenty, Thompson, Huckabee.

Ideally we'd have Florida Governor Jeb "Russell", who's the best candidate based on qualifications -- sadly, he likely won't be able to run this time just because of his last name and his family. What kind of democracy eliminates someone because of their family name?

Thompson,

Wasn't he the one who just got "chipped". Too Orwellian for me. If we are digging up ex-governors from blue states I'll go with Engler.

Well, he's not necessarily my choice, but he qualifies as conservative and has expressed interest, so I listed him. I agree, I would rather have Engler of the two.

INteresting........in the 5 way match-up poll (to the right of the main straw poll) G. Allen is ahead of the pack.

I wish Sanford and Pawlenty were listed.

The Pawlenty insurgency can't begin until after November 2006. While he is a favorite of mine, I think he matches up poorly against the Hildebeast because he's so young. Kind of reminds me of Lazio.
