Jordan arrests Syrian allegedly part of Iraq-based terrorist group

AMMAN, Jordan - Al-Qaida in Iraq said on Tuesday it was behind a failed rocket attack on U.S. Navy ships in Jordan’s Red Sea port of Aqaba, according to an Internet statement.

The group, led by Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, said those who carried out the strike last Friday had fled to safety.

“The rockets were fired at their targets -- a group of ships belonging to the crusader American forces -- in Aqaba and Eliat," the statement said.

“We would like to tell you that we delayed claiming this attack so that our brothers could complete their withdrawal ... and they returned safely to their base," it said.

Jordan has blamed the strike on an Iraq-based group, which some officials said was linked to al-Zarqawi. Three rockets fired from a warehouse missed the U.S. warships but killed a Jordanian soldier and struck the Israeli port of Eliat.

For something to actually be an "attack" doesnt it have to succeed?

Again...the terrorists see "failure" as victory, and the press is more than willing to accomodate in their rhetoric.

There's nothing like fighting over claiming credit for a "flop!" Typical of Lefties and M.E. Losers. Just think if they were adept at anything other than suicide how much damage the evil MF'ers could do.

Uh...I'd be pretty embarrassed to claim responsibility for this. They missed a rather large, stationary target.

Things are in a pretty sad state, when you have to go out of your way to claim ownership over a complete failure, just to prove that you are doing something.

al-Zarqawi is now reduced to taking credit for "failed" operations.

NEWS FLASH...tick tick tick tickity tick.... This morning Hi Heels admitted to mooning al-Zarqawi sincerely. She also slapped her sandal upon her bathmat on which was written the words "Allah Smells Funny". This following last week's terrible rubber band launch leaving bin Laden unmarked as the flashing projectile missed him by several thousand miles..... tick tick tick....

I just don't get it... they missed! But what I REALLY don't get is why they even came close... haven't these areas been constantly sweeped and monitored, satelite and otherwise??? Just seems to easy for these animals to still be allowed to LIVE AND BREATHE within any close proximity of these ships. One would think that after the "USS COLE" incident, these animals would be wiped out, innocent bystanders or not. Forgive my ignorance.
