Thunderstorms and humid.......wet and rainy.
You really have a chip on your shoulder about this and you're totally misunderstanding my post.
I DID NOT DISPARAGE WHITE PEOPLE!!!! I am white and I went to an all white school in an area of the country that is mostly white. Now that I live in a different place, it is enjoyable to go to places where everyone doesn't look just like me. What is wrong with that?
One of my co-workers who is black has told me that he doesn't like to go black clubs because "he doesn't want to go to some place where everyone there is black just like him." I guess he hates black people now?
The fact that a youngblood like yourself feels compelled to do just that tells me the LEFT won hands down in the education and culture areas since I was a kid.Well said!
Miami is arguably the prettiest water and beaches on earth to have so many folks living within 15 miles of the beach....basically from Palm Beach to CocoPlum.
Takes good money and children grow up fast.
Crime is awful too.
Maybe worse than Atlanta to be fair.
Weedpatch trumps Oildale every time.
When I move back, damn the law, I will be packing. Just showing a 9 Iron to the thugs is enough to scare them off.
wow - I can't believe our luck with the top ones. We lived near Charlottesville for 6 years, our daughter goes to college in San Luis Obispo, and we live near Honolulu. I can't disagree with those picks at least.
Give me those desert winters...Hey, we get snow. See it on that mountain top.
No. My great-great grandfather was a Texas Ranger.
It was great in the early 80s. I LOVED UVa and the Charlottesville area in general.
If you can't find it at the local mercantile, there is always the internet.
Without looking for a place to park...
Smokin' Joe, are you a kindred spirit of mine? :) Our kids were raised in a park! Hundreds of miles of unspoiled wilderness, and their "playground" equipment were trees, gullys, streams and a rope tied to a tall tree limb. Yes, a crowd IS a well behaved mob, IMHO. To each his own, and I'm glad I own and live in God's country. We amuse ourselves with good books, walks in the woods without another soul in sight. Watching the northern lights, or that first long day of spring. Spending money is not our idea of a happy, family gathering. It's all about time together, laughs, and we make our own entertainment. :)
Most of the crime in Miami-Dade County is in the stretch from downtown north to the county line from LeJeune up to Biscayne Boulevard. I used to walk around Doral at 2AM and never had a problem.
Liberty City has got to be the worst ghetto neighborhood in America. Worse than anyplace in Detroit. Maybe East St. Louis is worse.
Very true. And in the global picture, both Chicago and New York are serious mega-metros.
Bucky Dent?
No offense (seriously) but you've really got a twisted and unrealistic view of suburban living. If a person lives in a suburb, they can have a nice home with a yard, good schools and nice neighbors. The city is there for entertainment, medical care, airport and other items.
Major cities aren't all homeless people and crime. I rarely see any of that when I go to ANY major city. Of course, I go to the areas that don't have high crime areas.
What's a Chicago?
The best place to live is whereever you're happy.
When I moved to Chicago from Grad School I was pleasently surprised. The theatre scene is considerably better (and cheaper) than NYC, believe it or not.
Nope. Name was Cox. My mother's father's mother's father. Maternal, paternal, maternal, paternal side of my family. A real law enforcement Ranger. A crack shot.
